"Hi, Mom." Aurora replied with obvious concern, but then she couldn't hold herself back any longer, and lunged for her mother and hugged her with a feirce passion. "I missed you so much." She whispered in her mother's ear, smiling broadly as she chortled happily. She'd missed her mother almost as much as she missed her twin. Even though she was full-grown, she still needed her!
"Of course I'm okay with that." Fishbowl said, then chuckled softly as he added, "Did you really think that I'd give up on our first date just because you asked me to walk a little bit?" He winked at her and looked at the flowers, shrugging as he added, "Just a lucky guess." He looked at his bag, wondering if this beautiful place would inspire him to draw another picture. Hope seemed to like them so much, he'd probably draw her another for Christmas, although he couldn't quite figure out what he would draw her yet. It seemed odd to give her only pictures of herself. Maybe one of nature? She seemed to like it enough... he put the thought in the back of his head to think about it. He gently swished his tail from side to side, grinning. He adjusted his bowtie and loosened it slightly so it hung charmingly around his neck. "Now let's get going before it gets completely dark out, okay?" He winked at her. "I don't want either of us getting lost on the way there. Anastasia wouldn't let me hear the end of it." He blushed a little, imagining Anastasia chuckling at the sight of him stuck in a mud bog somewhere with his mane tangled and full of briars, dirt caked onto his hooves, his bowtie hanging on by just a thread, barely recognizable as the same chub who left the stables a few hours before.
"Oh, don't worry about it, you look charming in those," Coal teased right back, gently tugging on the end of the string of them, chuckling. "Maybe I should try some on, eh?" He grabbed a long, fluffy peice of gold tinsel out of his bag of decoration goodies and twirled around and around in it until he looked slightly like a decorated tree himself, especially when he hung a shiny red baubel off of his mane, grinning as he tucked a peice of holly behind one of her ears. "There. Now we look good AND smell good!" He chirped triumphantly. He paraded around the stall as though he were in a fashion show or something, striking poses and grinning goofily at his mate, in an extremely good mood. He continued to dig through his bag of assorted decor, wrapping another string of lights all the way around the stall door and plugging them in so they flashed and danced wonderfully. There was a small wooden shelf to the right of the door and he put up a few different things: a snowglobe with a little snowman inside, the bottom was candy-cane striped, and a teddy bear wearing elf ears, the pointy shoes, and the same hat. The little bell on it jingled as he lightly set it down. He exchanged the blue blanket on his bed for a red one and folded the spare green one beside it. "Whaddya think, Snowy?" He stepped back and admired his work, smiling slightly at all of it.
Fireworks burst out laughing at the sight of his father, then realized that learning to fly might be a good idea -- especially inside of the stall, where he could practice without getting teased by any of the other foals if he wasn't very good at it. So he slowly but surely began to flap his little wings, and rose about an inch off of the floor. "I'm doing it!" He squealed, and lost his concentration just logn enough to come back down hard, but lightly enough not to fall. Then he slowly sighed and tried again, while Hana chattered encouragingly, "Come on, sweetie, Fireworks, you can do it! Come on, darling!" He flapped his wings and rose into the air rather easily again, his strength allowing him to flap his wings strongly, and he rose much farther into the air the second time, easily hovering over the ground. Hana watched him with glee, her eyes sparkling as she watched her little boy growing up.
