(FPRO and Axe- Accepted! I think we can start now!)
New York sighed and took a nice, long, refreshing sip of his coffee. Finally, a break... he thought. He hated this time of year, mostly because it was when he had to deal with sorting loads of taxes. Checking that all the citizens are paying properly, giving tax returns, making sure that all the tax prices on goods are correct... he reminded himself dully, taking another gulp of his drink. This would have been way easier if he didn't have over 8-freaking-million citizens... At least they have the decency to let me have some free t- his train of thought was cut off as his phone starting ringing, the classic yet annoying ringtone suddenly blaring off out of nowhere. Checking the Collar ID, his saw is was his governor. That son of a... "Hello?" he asked, picking up anyway. Work is work, he shouldn't have expected anything more. "New York, w-we just received a letter!" a voice on the other end of the line spoke, sounding somewhat urgent and panicked through the electrical sound waves of the phone. "Well, what is it? Get on with it already," New York said dully, obviously not taking the situation seriously. What could is possibly be now? Maybe a letter from one of the states, or a bill saying that one certain person was way in debt. Or maybe it was- "I-It seems to be some sort of ransom letter, but the only thing written on it is 'I have America', and... wait, there's something on the back!" As New York's brain began processing what he had just heard, the sound of a paper being flipped over could be heard in the back round. "Alright, it reads: 'My dearest 50, what a fancy meeting you here! I must apologize for the bit of bluntness in my earlier statement, but make no mistake. I have America with me right now. This is just a friendly little letter to inform you of that (:. Don't bother looking for him, I can assure you he will be taken care of as a proper country should. You would never find me anyway (;. All of you should have received this notice, and since my work here is done now, toodles~!' Those were the exact words, sir," the governor read, his voice think with nervousness and anxiety. "..." "Sir?" "... Get me into contact with the others." "But sir-" "Now," New York hissed, pacing around in his office.
