Unfortunately, that's the risk you take when you let your cat out. They aren't like dogs; the don't come right back. They'll leave home for several days at a time, and then come back when you least expect it.

Does your kitten at least have a collar/ tags?

No tag. Only collar with a bell.

They're sneezing a ton, and can't breathe because of all the mucus in their nose. We've taken them to the vet, and they're got steroids to help with inflammation, but that's about it.

I hate that my babies are sick, and I can't seem to help them.

Sounds like the start of an Upper Respertory infection. Both of my kittens had it, one has it and is being treated for it. They got it before we rescued them. Your vet should have given oral antibiotics, pill or liquid.

If there's blood around the nose after lots of sneezing, get them in as soon as you can again. c:

Yeah, the boy I've got, Grover, has a long history of upper respiratory infections. He was quarantined from approximately 2-5 months old at the pound because his were so bad.
His lungs are scarred from all that, which is why he had such a hard time breathing, no matter what we gave him. The vet finally gave him a shot of prednisone and gave us some pills as well, and that's when all the medicine started to work.

Digit, my female kitty, only started sneezing a couple of days ago. We noticed it pretty quick, though, so she started taking the pills right away.

I just hate that they're sick, and from an unknown virus, too. We're thinking it might be feline herpes that caused some of it, but we're not sure- the viral tests are too expensive for us right now.

c: Yay. Consider keeping it indoors only in the future to avoid all that worry again and to keep your kitten safer. ^^

You could try getting him a harness then he can't run away but can go explore outside. c: We have one for Jack.
