"Well..." Toko began, "I was wondering if I could do it myself. Torka's a pretty bright pup, it'll be nice to have the chance to train him. He really does show a lot of potential, and I'd rather have myself be an influence over him instead of one of the newcomers... But whatever you decide is fine." He finished strongly, looking at Ayet with hopeful eyes.

Tobi and Ryo blinked their eyes open together. They seemed to have fallen asleep under the roots of a tree. Tobi licked her lips, tasting the blood of the mouse family they had found living under here before they took it over. She had felt bad, eating such small animals, but there was nothing that could be done. She chose to lay there, and Ryo got up, crawling through the small gap in the roots to the clearing. He saw Torka sitting, and raced up to him, skidding to a halt in front of him. He and Tobi were younger than Torka by around 7 months, so he looked up to the other pup. "You're gunna be a fighter today! You get a mentor and everything! That's so cool! Who do you want to mentor you?" The words seemed to rush out of the pups mouth, and his wagging tail made his whole body sway back and forth with energy. One day, he'd be a big strong fighter, just like Ayet and Toko and Niko and soon Torka. One day, he'd be strong enough to protect Tobi, and be able to keep her safe.

Torka wagged his tail and planted his tongue on the younger wolves forehead affectionately before standing up and puffing out his chest. "Yep, a whole year old." He grinned then looked down at Ryo. "I do want to be a fighter, and as for my mentor..." His eyes darted to several wolves around him, then an ear-to-ear grin broke out on his face. "Toko, he's really nice and I like play fighting with him."

Ayet bit his lip. He had not thought of who should mentor the pup, with all that was happening. "I am... Not sure. Do you have any ideas?" He asked his beta, wondering if it was best to pick Toko. Toko and Torka were fairly close; though that could be said with almost every wolf here and Torka. It was hard not to like the little fellow.

Snowdrift smiled at Torka "I kind of would want to be your mentor, I could teach you how to fight...and how to build things. Like homes and fires and other things. I dont' want for you to feel that you have to pick me, I'm saying that just to put it out there. Because i'm sure Toko would be a good mentor to" she said softly.

Torka's smile drooped into a lop-sided grin. "Nobody told me i'd have to pick. I thought Sir.Ayet picked for me?" He asked, tilting his head. He was intent on having a mentor, and though he loved Snowdrift to pieces - mainly because Snowdrift was female and she was one of the only female influences in his life, and partly because he had always loved to play with her. - he thought that a male influence would be healthier as he was, infact, male. Toko was pretty much like an uncle to Torka, and one of his earliest pack-life memories was playing with the adult.

Snowdrift smiled "perhaps your right,I will be happy for you no matter who gets to be your mentor, besides I'm sure you wont want a female mentor, I'm sure who ever mentor gets you will be very happy" she said. Her paws dug at the dirt as she waited for what Ayet was going to say.

"No, miss.Snowdrift, its not that!" He giggled. "A female mentor would be the same as a male mentor, right? Only, the tough guys like me could beat you girls at anything." He puffed his chest and stood up with his tail high in the air, ears up, head tilted toward the sky. "Girls smell." He added with a playful snort, giggling.

Snowdrift smiled "boys drule" she said. "And who says boys are better at girls in fighting" she added with a small glint in the corner of her eye."If you want, we could play wrestle and see who wins that" she said. Her face turned into a very happy puppy-like face. Her whole body dropped as she dropped into a puppy crouch. Her mouth spread across her face into a smile.

Torka had only just turned one and nobody had thrown any responsibilities on him yet, so he decided that rejecting Snowdrifts offer to play would be an idiot mistake. He charged forward, tail wagging like mad, and pounced toward the female.
