Scarlet walked around her bedroom, as bored as ever. She didn't feel like snooping around because there was hardly any palace gossip. "If only it was better weather, I would have loved to play croquet with Prince Darkhooves!" She said as if it was a big deal, looking out of her window at the rainy atmosphere.

Star observed her constellations chart with a careful eye. She needed to get her mathematical placements right, and her study of stars to find out which constellations would come out. "Yes!" Star cheered. "Capricorn and Gemini are coming out tonight! My two favourite constellations!" Her mother then came into the room, so she rolled up her chart and put it away on her desk. "Yes, mom?" She grinned, her mother, Velvet Ribbons, gave her a cheery smile, her mother told her she was taking a train to Canterlot for a day, and that she'd be back tomorrow, and also that her foalsitter, Shockwave, would be taking care of her. "Okay, mom! Have a nice trip!"
