"Stop pretending to be my mate!" Bronze bellowed loudly, stomping his hooves in annoyance. He didn't look particularly powerful or scary, just annoyed and confused. He stopped and whimpered, "Why would you do something like that? It's so mean! Moon's gone, and nothing's bringing her back, and you're trying to pretend you're her just like all of those other mares because you think I'm stupid. That's why, isn't it? You all must be having a big laugh over how dumb you think I am. Like I don't know my mate when I see her." He paused and sniffled pathetically. "Even tried to pick on Aurora, too, but I won't let you silly mares do that. I won't let you hurt my daughter. She misses her mother even more than I do."
"Is something wrong?" Aurora frowned softly, pausing as she took a step toward the stables. "Should I not go see her for some reason? I need to know everything, Star. Come on -- I've missed having someone I can share all of my secrets with."
Fishbowl laughed and agreed, "No costumes," gently shaking his head from side to side, he added, "They would just ruin how genuine and natural you look." He tried to imagine her in some sort of silly costume, but the idea was quickly pushed from his head because she didn't look even a bit gorgeous in his imagination, and he knew that couldn't be true. Even trapped behind ruffles and sparkles and silk, he knew she would find some way to let her beauty shine through. But he'd never do that to her. That would be like trying to muffle her angelic voice, and why in the world would anyone try to do that? "As for the date.. I don't really know anything around here, so why don't you decide? I promise I'll be on time, even if you ask me to be there at midnight." He winked at her, chirping, "I promise, I really do!" He glanced at his satchel, the idea of drawing her again, without having to hide it this time, making him giddy.
Coal watched his beautiful mate drift off into sleep, she looked even more gorgeous when she had fallen asleep. So peaceful and loving and dreamy, unworried and not weighted down by all the things that frightened her while she was awake, like Minty's odd omen. He gently stroked her mane and kissed her nose as she slumbered, grinning at her. He began to plot for his gift, stealing away silently to the cupboard where he kept all of his craft things, he knew Anastasia was a sucker for sneakily taking pictures of her chubs with other chubs, and now he was depending on it. He withdrew all of his craft supplies and piled them into a little basket, then hid them under a clump of hay in the corner so he could grab them more quickly before lying down beside her again and cuddling right up to her so she wouldn't get disturbed, then he thought again and grabbed a light blanket from the cupboard as well and draped it over her to keep her warm as he felt a slight chill creep into the stall.
Fireworks giggled like mad at his father's odd attitude. "You're not asleep, silly," He retorted, pouncing onto his father's stomach and laughing even more loudly. "You can't be asleep if you're talking!" He prodded his father with his little hooves. "Get up, Daddy! I want to play!" He added, nibbling at his father's mane and tugging at it slightly. Hana watched the two of them with laughter in her eyes and joy in her heart, knowing she couldn't have found a better father for her high-energy little son. "Careful, Fireworks, don't hurt him." She chimed in, gently kissing her son's forehead and smiling serenely at him, he was growing so fast! It scared her a little, she didn't want to lose that adorable foal so quickly!
Anastasia was napping outside of Isabelle's stall when suddenly her cellphone alerted her to a new call with a funky ringtone. Confused, she stirred herself from her nap and answered it, "Huh?" A moment later her face had grown somber, she tucked away the phone and stood up, stretching. She ran to the door and all but threw herself into her truck, it came to life with a rumble and she drove away in a hurry, looking exhausted and a little frightened as she left a trail of dust in her path.
