Update: July 31st 2016
I will be really busy until after october or something due to studies. I will be trying to catch up on the adoptables I work in. Please shoot me a PM if you want to enquire whether I want to keep my adoptables before deciding to give them away.

Am I the only person who hates Derpy Hooves?

She makes fun of handicapped children.

The word "Derp" Is made by Two guys acting like handicapped kids. I have a handicapped brother. This character offends me, and being om A CHILDRENS SHOW makes it worse. I almost started hating the show because of it.

{Handicapped means children who have disabilities - born that way, they cant talk, have a bad ear, ect. }

There is no official definition for the word derp, but it is not commonly used as a term for people with disabilities. And, the word was first found in mainstream media in South Park when "Mr. Derp" made a guest appearance. He was not mentally or physically challenged, he would simply cry out "Derp!" after hitting himself in the head with a hammer.
If I saw a crippled man I would not call it a "derp"- if my friend hiccuped when she was laughing and made a funny face, I would call that a "derp".

-Rainy

-Puts on a pair of sophisticated glasses-
Actually, the word 'Derp' first appeared in a movie from the 1970's named Baseketball (Yes, that's how it spelled) when two males were in a female's room and the female caught them. One of the boys said, "Derp!" and ran out of the room along with the other boy. (lawl, I said male)
So when you look at that, why would a person should, "MENTALLY DISABLED PEOPLE!" at a time like that? It's really illogical (I know, I'm Daddy Discord XD) and people shouldn't get to hyped up over a word. I, actually, and somewhat offended that the 'offended' people didn't take the time to do the research and just went off of the opinion of the MINORITY. Yeah, flawless logic, I know. -_-" And furthermore, I have a friend who is JUST like Derpy Hooves and wasn't offended at all! If anything, she WAS offended because Derpy, being some 'offensive character who makes fun of handicapped children', who might I add was actually just being clumsy, was taken off, because she was imperfect. Now what sense does that make!?!?//endrant

tl;dr: So, all in all, Derpy isn't offensive, and people shouldn't taker her that way just because she's a little clumsy.
I'll do this later.

The only thing about Derpy that I didn't like was the both the voices she was given. Neither sounded like I had imagined her, when reading anything she said in a fanfiction it was in a light airy but soft voice. I'm mentally disabled but you don't see me getting all offended I still like her. To me the word Derp has always been used when me or friends have done something silly or wrong and were just like "derp" ^-^

And on the topic of Derp, I am a derp, not disabled. Disabled means physically or mentally unable to do certain things. Derp just means clumsy or forgetful.

Derp does not mean clumsy. That is just a fake definition covering the true hurtful meaning of the word. Derp is often used to mean retarded or stupid, and thus offending people with that eye disability or just any disability in general. I really dislike the name Derpy Hooves, and I'd rather use something like 'Clumsy' Hooves. I mean bronies said she was clumsy, right? So, I'd actually use a word that actually means clumsy.

Finally, somepony who understands me! The word Derp was created by two men on YouTube acting disabled.

Oh my gosh, that is from my favorite Discord tumblr, Discorderly conduct! *u*

I think I know the joke they're giving off there, but it's not MLP:FiM related, you could PM me c:

Could you post the link to the tumblr you mentioned? I am kinda curious.

ok back on topic, here is my question for the day:

Anyone have a faviorite MLP:FIM antagonist?

Mine are Nightmare moon (since she looks so cool), the red dragon because he looks SO much like Smaug(!), and Discord because he is the only MLP:FIM villain from the episodes i've seen so far (i've seen all of season one and a little of season 2) with a sense of humor, and seems (to me) more annoying than truly evil (but i personally think he talks WAY too much!).

Yes, I like Queen Chrysalis. I love her song and I love how she can shapeshift.
