Welcome to Chickensmoothie's newest Furry Club for the Furry Community upon here,
Here we will stay on topic of being a furry. We will talk about news and fursuits, art and artists,
plushies and dolls, Events and Conventions and so forth! Everybody is welcome here no matter
your religion, sexuality, gender identity, Race or anything else! This is a place to be Proud and
to speak with fellow furs like you, please keep hate to an absolute Zero.

There has been many Versions of Clubs, Groups and Discussions upon Chickensmoothie,
it is standard after all that all Clubs/Armies/Group and Threads be re-made after a certain amount of
pages, along with staff chosen to monitor this Club the staff of CS will make sure to keep everyone
on topic, so there will be a lot of moderating on here.

Anonymous: As a Furry myself I take pride. A furry is someone who
may like dressing up as anthro characters or simply someone who likes drawing anthros. Of course
people who draw anthros do no necessarily have to be a furry themselves. Mostly Members of the fandom
have a fursona or character that represents them most as a person be it colours, species, or anything else.
The fandom is huge and is one of the most diverse communities to be a part of.

The furry fandom is a subculture interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes. Furry fandom is also used to refer to the community of people who gather on the Internet and at conventions.

The word furry (adj, f'eree), has several meanings, dependent on the context in which it is used. Predominantly, it means "consisting of or resembling fur". It also pertains to an interest in anthropomorphic animals and/or mythological or imaginary creatures which possess human or superhuman capabilities.
The plural form of furry in all its contexts is furs or furries; the subjects of furry interest are also known as furries. Because people in the fandom tend to identify closely with their avatars (or fursonas), the word is often used to mean a group of furry characters in art or roleplay

What is a Furry?:
A: Please see the previous post for a few explanations.

What is a Fursona/Scaly/Feathersona and so forth?
A: They are characters owned by individuals to represent themselves in the fandom,
not all furs have them but a majority do, they can be any species even made up ones!

Do I have to have a Fursona to be in the Fandom?:
A: No you do not have to have a Fursona to be in the Fandom.

What is A Furry Convention?:
A: A Furry Convention is like Comic-Con, Hetalia-Cons, Anime-Con, Anime North and whatnot,
but instead of having to do with anime, manga and so forth they are for Furries and Fans
of the Fandom. Artists, Fursuiters and General Furries from the World Travel and Gather.

What is a Mate?:
A: A Mate is someones Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Fiance(e), Partner or anything of the sort.

What is an Anthro?:
A: Anthropomorphic is a word meaning "like a human." It is used to describe a well-known concept called anthropomorphism: ascribing human characteristics to a non-human being or object. (...) the word can apply to any non-human thing, including animals, plants, and inanimate objects.

Since the 1980s, the furry fandom has used the word to refer primarily to bipedal animals. Anthropomorphic animals are sometimes called anthro or morphic for short, and art featuring furry characters is sometimes called anthro art. This is somewhat ironic, as anthro ultimately derives from the Greek anthropos, a word that means "human being."

Do I have to have an Anthro Character to be a Furry?:
A: No you do not, some furries use Feral Characters instead.

What's the Difference between a Therian/Otherkin and a Furry?:
A:

Furry fans appear to be generally aware of otherkin and therianthropy. The practices and viewpoints of many furry lifestylers have some similarity to these ideas; because of this, some lifestylers associate with one or both terms. Likewise, while furry fandom in general might not have been formed to explore spiritual connections with animals and other creatures, many otherkin and therianthropes find the content and subject matter of furry appealing because of their own interests. In the opposite direction, many furry fans discover the otherkin community through the fandom and begin to take part in it as well.
A noticeable number of people within the otherkin community are also furry fans in some capacity and frequently attend events such as furry conventions in addition to otherkin-specific social events. The philosophy and spirituality tracks at some conventions have hosted otherkin and therian speakers. Panels and discussions on mythology have also attracted otherkin to participate. Otherkin who are artists have used furry conventions to display their work, and those with an interest in make-up and costuming have attended for masquerade contests and dances.
