What if you secretly had a twin who was in trouble with the law? The truth is, when you were younger, your parents were dirt poor, and unable to afford the life of luxury they wanted to give you. So they sold your twin to an organisation that paid them enough that they were able to afford a really expensive house, a villa in france and those horse riding lessons. They sold your twin because you were healthier, they probably were blind or had a medical condition. But they never told you about your twin. You grew up spoiled and demanding, knowing you could get what you liked.
Except your twin and several others were raised up to be assassins and are now in trouble with the law. Which means that you are too because they look exactly like you. The assassin twin would have been exposed to training but also experimentation, so they may have had surgery that makes them preform better. But then again it may have gone wrong.
This roleplay would be set up like this;
Person A would play Rich twin A, and Assassin twin D
Person B would play Rich twin B, and Assassin twin A
Person C would play Rich twin C, and Assassin twin B
Person D would play Rich twin D, and Assassin twin C
So you would be playing someone else's twin.I'd absolutely love this, it's such a cool creative idea! But I have so much work to do at the moment, what with school, my desire to write my Explorer's pantomime and such... It's a busy time of year for me, Christmas...
And I thought I may chip in on everything else people are saying too. =^_^=
Perfect characters - I believe I may be a carrier of this disease... v_v I try really hard to create my own characters, but I always want them to have something I don't have - like money, being able to sing, being musically gifted, that sort of thing. And mine always have troubled pasts. Really troubled pasts. I think, since I have a lot going on at home, that I find it easier to RP someone who's had it worse off than me, which is really bad and stupid but it sorta gets me away from things. It's honestly not what you guys think, so don't worry about it.
Anyway, I don't believe in the typical normal past. So many things happen to so many different people, it's hard to say what a "normal" past is. Getting slightly off track here... But perfect characters, they irritate me. >.< And I know that some of the characters I create are most likely considered perfect, but those usually happen when I have little time or a time limit create characters. Which is why whenever I get the time to be in a RP with you guys, I need you to remind me of this.
I may go over the top with what I give my characters, trait-wise. =_=
Characters being re-used - I honestly don't do this often. I have one set of characters for a 1x1 Percy Jackson RP I'm in, but since me and my partner have been doing the RP over a year now, I can't see them with other people. They have set partners, set friends, set siblings, that it would be so weird just to take them out of context like that. And I know my partner uses them elsewhere, which sorta irks me but each to their own. Just like a HP RP I was in, I have a set of five characters for that RP, but they were so entwined with other people's characters that it sort of made sense just to leave them when the RP died - which pained me, but I can't re-create those characters.
But then again, if I've spent ages trying to create a character for a RP only for the RP to die before we get into the plot, then I will admittedly re-use them. I sort of keep them in a box until I find something that is appropriate for them. But I have little time now to join RPs, which I am fixing, so they sort of die. Which is a shame.
Face claims - Admittedly, I don't do this often. In my almost three years RPing, I can only remember once using a celebrity. And I didn't even like that celebrity... So, for me, it's a turn off if someone uses a celebrity image, I just think of the celebrity and it ruins the fun of the RP for me. Which sucks, because then the RP dies and I feel incredibly guilty...
Coding - I can honestly spend hours trying to code something... Which is why I like it when people say, "use my form, don't edit it", because it takes out a chunk of the time I would normally take. And I tend to change around the way I set out my posts. I have changed the way my posts are set out so often I can't even remember half of what I've changed it to. Plus, I do like looking at pretty posts, because I have so little time to read things, it helps me remember where I've read up to so I can literally just turn my phone on to look at what I need to read, etc. But I can get overly intimidated by forms that are too pretty. My mind goes blank, and I put things off until I can actually get around to reading the forms.
Characters in general - Admittedly, I know what I want my character to look like. I don't write the description, in fact that's the last thing I do, but I am a very visual person. I like the search for the perfect picture, the search for their siblings (my forms are very link based. -_- ), the search for whatever. Even their dog, if they have one, though most of them don't. And the personality is almost never linked to their appearance, unless it's a shy character, then it's almost guaranteed for them to have long hair.
Question for you guys - Do you mind giving people nudges to remind them about RPs? Personally, I don't, but I know that I often need them.
@Rose - I promise you, I am working on my post, it's just slow going at the moment. Currently home sick which should help, but with all my other clubs and life getting in the way, there's little to no time for me to post. I'll post it as soon as I am able to. Sorry. >.<
...Woah. Long post, didn't mean for that to happen. If anyone understands any of it, feel free to have a cookie. =^_^=
- -accept cookie-
-then uses your post coding to do my own because I'm a dirty rotten crook-
re-using characters: I always re-use my characters, as long as they fit the role-play. Obviously, sometimes I have to make major adjustments or just start from scratch, but if I can, I use one I already have. It's easier then starting a new one and saves lots of time .-. I don't find the joy that some people do in writing characters [the description... not the coding!!!] I wish some people did offer cheap/free personality writing. xD So yeah, I do re-use my characters a lot. cx
perf characters: LOL anyone who uses these are -removed-. Guys. Get freaking realistic. No, your name is not Celestial Meadows. Hell no. I can see a bit of a rare name- I use them myself, actually. Like, Kianna, that was a but weird. And in the physical description.... oi vay. Don't even get me started with this. Not ever friggin person has long, dirty blond hair, that is perfectly straight and smooth... not everyone has blue eyes or thin eye-brows... nor a perfect skin colour that's entirely even... not everyone has tall, long, tanned legs and not everyone has a keen sense of fashion. MAYBE LIKE THREE OF THOSE BUT NO WAY ALL OF THAT LIKE JEEZ PPL GET A LIFE WILL YOU. And not every single person is skinny and has perfect sight, hearing, or verbal skills. Like no they're not all quick-witted or really sweet or really nice or really understanding but at the same time love to party and are really shy around some people. Damn some people are like me and they have un-even teeth and hair that won't frame my face and are just huge wimps in a way. And history is always crap and they always have like four puppies and a horse and live in a mansion out in the country and just stop with it all. Not everyone has the iPhone 5. Gawsh.

character peektures: This kind of ticks me off. When people use celebrities. Not as bad as perfect characters but pretty close. I can see if it's a more un-popular celebrity and it's not like a picture taken on the red-carpet [I used one of... Ariana Grande, I think her name was once, just because the picture really went along with the rest of my character, but mind, she was in her bed-room giggling. So like. Nobody could even tell.] But I think a picture to go along with your form is alright. It helps you to visualise if you don't even bother reading forms like I do. c:
pretty posts: I love coding and enjoy doing it so this isn't an issue.... but when role-plays require pretty forms? Uh. No. If someone has limited Net access you are lucky they can even post. But I can't argue: it's more interesting to see a pretty post then not, but oh well .-. If it's not coded to your standard nobody gives a damn thing. Ugh.
now how do you make a role-play last a long time guys come on freaking tell me.
