People wanted to know what happened next with Bilbo and his magic ring. xD
So it turned into the epic you see before you~!
I may be wrong, but I've always known it to be a different way. I don't mean to be rude or a know-it-all, I thought I'd just share my view of how I thought it is. c:
Tolkien had the languages first, and the story came after. He didn't even mean for it to be as popular as it did with all the movies and franchise and everything, he just wanted to see if he could weave a long and epic tale.

*feels like flaunting geeky knowledge and adding to what Nellas said*
The original purpose of the story was to give background to the language. From what I know, Quenya was the first Middle Earth-related thing Tolkien created and the only reason he made the story was to give background to his language. Thank you, Mr. Tolkien, for feeling the need to give a background to your language. Best thing you ever did.

I'm an adult now! don't message me about things i said when i was 12

From what I understand, Tolkien began inventing languages for Middle Earth ages before he thought about Lord of the Rings
or the Hobbit. But he wanted a background for his languages, so he began writing the Book of Lost Tales. Later on, he wrote The Hobbit for his children, but it was so successful that the readers wanted to read more, so Tolkien used Bilbo´s magic ring to create a much bigger and more complex story for adults, which ended up as Lord of the Rings. At least, that´s what I´ve read

Yes, he started the language as a kid.

I love learning Sindarin. I usually start with understanding the phrases used in the movie then I started with the dictionary. It's a lot of fun because my best friend and I often talk in Sindarin. Particularly when we travel to Mordor(Maths) to destory the ring (Homework, while avoiding the notice of the Morgoth(Maths Teacher). It's also quite nice if you ahve learnt Sindarin and the read the Simarillion because you realise just how many words you know and it always bring a smile to my face when I can translate it on my own.
@Cat
Why not join both? I know Luna's one will be epic! Why? Because I often rp with her and it's a great plot. XD

I'm learning from my Treason of Isengard book. Not only does it give unpublished info, it also contains a whole page of writing Elvish XD
And I am very, very new to RP. I want to take it slowly first, and then when I feel more confident, join more. :3
