I've never posted here before, but I felt very disappointed in the Cheshire cat, so I figured I'd voice my opinion here instead of just sitting around thinking about it and being more disappointed the longer I think about it.
I don't have a problem with the color scheme, though I felt it was too much of a simple color scheme. By that I mean, there isn't enough contrast between the base fur color and the color of the stripes. There's nothing striking about it in the least bit. It just looks like a fluffy purple tabby. Mostly though, I'm disappointed in the lack of insanity in the entire thing. The only thing that says Cheshire to me is the grin, and even that is not unsettling enough to be a "Cheshire grin" as opposed to just a normal grin. I always read the Cheshire cat as more of a kind of psychosis incarnate, in feline form. Clearly, I can't be the only one who reads him that way, since almost every depiction of him does its very best to capture that unsettling insane look. The Cheshire cat isn't just a cat that can turn invisible, but a key part of how Wonderland is. Just like just about every other important character in the book (including little Alice who threw herself head first into the insanity of the dream) is built around the idea of being mad, insane, unnatural, and/or just plain creepy. No offense meant, but this Cheshire cat just feels like nothing but a grinning, fluffy, blue purple tabby cat. He's more like Alice's real cat in the real world (who is only briefly in Through The Looking Glass before Alice goes through the looking glass) only painted purple with a grin pasted on his face.
As I said, no offense intended to the artist. Personally, I would have much rather seen a disembodied floating cat head, with the crazy Cheshire grin, since that gets across clearly the fact of who it is, and that it can vanish completely (not just turn invisible, but vanish). Especially since at one point in the book, the very fact he's just a floating cat head is used for an entire scene in which he makes a fool out of the Queen, the King, and the Queens Executioner.
Ugh, that's an awful long post for one little pet.

However, the other three look fantastic. Especially the Jabberwock, who I recognized immediately. That one is spot on (or as spot on as you could make it basing it off of a different type of animal, such as the butterfly wolves, instead of doing it all free hand).
