The zebras are the most valuable pets on the site. Some wild rumors about their rarity have managed to make people tentative about them. They wouldn't say 'OMG so rare' still, though, if they had gone down that drastically. x3

I feel like there's some flawed logic going on with this. Now, I'm no statistics expert, but... People are saying the zebras' rarity is decreasing because of the influx of adopters each month - but rarity is how many of each pet is on the site compared to the number of users, yes? While there will be more zebras over all, there are also that many more members added to the site. Unless masses of people are joining, adopting, then deleting their accounts, the rarity of the zebras should theoretically stay the same - which it has.
Am I wrong here?

That's exactly right. The zebra statistics go up with the users, so there really isn't much of a rarity drop involved at all. Only mudslinging at the poor zebras.

That's exactly right. The zebra statistics go up with the users, so there really isn't much of a rarity drop involved at all. Only mudslinging at the poor zebras.

That's a damn shame. The zebra used to be one of the most treasured pets on the site, and their worth has been hugely affected by misinformation. Same thing happened with the Dragons, like Diabolic said, to a certain extent. People got confused and treated Malk's guide like a rarity guide, when often she was talking about the rarity of the dragon colors in the books.

I've compiled a list of the Septembers by value based on what people have said in the Fair Trade thread - it probably still needs some tweaking, but most of them seem fairly stable in position. The main ones that seem to be of vague placement are the Cake dogs relative to each other (though their position as a group is constant) and the placement of the Patchy and Striped Pink Septembers.

I've compiled a list of the Septembers by value based on what people have said in the Fair Trade thread - it probably still needs some tweaking, but most of them seem fairly stable in position. I'm pretty sure the Cake dogs are right, as far as that's the order they turned VR in anyway. I do think the Pink Patchy belongs above the Pink Striped - I personally had a much harder time finding Patchy Pinks when I was looking for them, and say a lot more of the Striped ones.

Do we really want to go this far with the list, though? (Or would it just be an aside like, "here's the September dogs and how rare they are compared to one another"?) If we start listing this far down, pets like the Gray dragon and Halloween Cerb would have to go in as well. I thought it was kinda nice to have the list end just before September, because the July/August pets - and those equivalent in value - are really in a category all their own. Anything after that is a major step down in worth, and they're also equivalent to so many different things (like, practically no one would even take Advents for a July/August pet, but it's a different story for Septembers).

If the Septembers do go up, they'd have to be pretty clearly separated from the July/Augusts (on my own value list, I've got them divided up into value levels), maybe on a list of their own like deja suggests. Adding in pets like the dragons wouldn't be a bad thing though, since a lot of people ask about their value - "how much is the ____ dragon worth?" is probably the most common question in the "What Is This Pet Worth?" thread.

It's actually not a bad idea, given the Septembers are pretty darn popular themselves. They would just need to be clearly separated from the July and August list, as has been said. Atwood, I think your list is correct. x3

I think we should add stuff like the Angel Advent, BMD, Black Advent, etc to the September List. o-o They are up there in worth with the Septembers.
