Make sure to do plenty of research! Just like all dogs, dobies benefit most from homes that are well prepared for their arrival. Look into what makes a reputable breeder, or look into rescue groups in your area. Join a forum if you can, and be prepared to learn. My dobie forum has been an invaluable resource for me for both just learning about the breed in general and it enabled me to meet a few breeders and rescuers at shows and events and get to know the breed irl as well.

Ironically, Skoll was posted on a pitty forum that popped up on Dakonic's radar, and she sent his link to me since I lurk that forum from time to time. Sometimes things are just meant to be ;] Before that, I was set on buying from a working breeder.

Well, the thing is, my family and I already own four doggies and there won't be anymore for me for some years yet until I settle into a place of my own. So there's plenty of time for research. ^^

woo!! Sometimes I can't believe how excited I get for people! I think it's because nothing interesting ever happens to me >.< And I'm never sure whether that's good or bad :P
Anyway, I see you settled on the name Skoll! That is an awesome name! Not long left now!
Oh I have a question! do you drive/have a car/plan to travel with Skoll in a car? If so do you plan to train him to sit in a seat of a car (without that mad jumping around that some dogs try to do) or will you have him in a boot with the dog gate like some people do? I've always been one of having them in the car on the seats or floor (I'm paranoid that a car will hit the back of mine and that will hurt the dog and I may not be able to get back to him to help and he'd panic and then every worst case scenario takes place and I get all panicky) rather than the back of the car.

Originally we were gunna do crated, but the crate I got is too big. Oops. I'm likely going to fashion a seatbelt out of his harness since I can't do the crate. I don't think we'll crash or anything but better safe than sorry.

hehe yeah I'm just paranoid. That and the fact that whilst driving around Wales on a day trip (I was quite young then, and we had a Cavalier (Spaniel) on our laps in the back) , a lorry drove into the back of us whilst we were letting other cars around a corner so we could turn. the dog fell off the back seat >.< She was all fine afterwards and not hurt in any way (as were we humans :P ) but it's kept me paranoid about dogs in cars since. The guy then tried to blame us -.-
Luckily Ozzy is small enough (and our car is giant) and he can lie comfortably in the car at my feet, and sudden stops or anything just make him look up like 'huh?!' rather than fly across the car. and if he does move into something, it's the cushioned seats he hits. Needless to say there are some terrible drivers in my area who don't see the need in indicating or staying within speed limits, and although my Dad isn't one of them, it doesn't stop them getting in the way or cutting in front of him when they shouldn't -.-
Anyway, sorry about that rant! all I actually meant to say is that you can get specially designed dog seat belts for in the car :3

8 more days *boogies*

Gunna go to the pet store and get a tag done for him, also gunna look at some last minute toy purchases. Thinking about a wubba and a frisbee and something for him to sit and chew like an antler or nylabone. Can you tell I'm excited?

EDIT: Well crap. I just was told by my roommate that we might be having some transportation issues @_@ I'm running around trying to find another ride.

Cool pics!
If I'm not answering, I'm probably at work. I usually get on in the late evening my time (listed timezone below)

Pronouns are they/them and you can call me Starfalling, M, or Morgan. I'm in Pennsylvania which is on EST (CStime -4)

I love trading, although I'm recently back from a long hiatus so I'm not fully up to date on demand. For any current event pets, I’ll only trade them away if I have a double, and I don't trade growing pets Real life got hectic and I somehow missed the whole month of May on here. Looking for all May pets, will keep WL updated as I go

I use bold a lot because it's easier for me to read, since you can't change other people's font size and being zoomed in constantly is annoying

I am a holibomber!
Sig was getting long, my counts have been moved to trade rules

Crisis possibly averted? I have a few buddies with cars that are checking their work schedules to see if they can take me. U_U; Why she waited so long I have have no idea.

I finally found the hedgehog toy I've been looking for so I got that instead of a wubba. They honk instead of squeak :D Just gotta get the tag now, and the dog liscense (required by state law) is also done at the store I'll be going to.
