December Discussion Thread - RULE UPDATE, PLEASE READ

I'm honestly attempting to figure out what the store pets are.... Obviously there's the Cheshire cat, but the other pets confuse me and even though I love Alice in Wonderland, I'm having a hard time putting a name to the face(or in this case, design). If anyone can tell me what creatures each pet is based off of, I would really appreciate it. Sorry if anyone's already asked this.

To the user calling me a liar about the Jabberwocky. You are correct. That is not a Jabberwocky since the Jabberwocky is a poem about a Jabberwock. It's a Jabberwock, not a Jabberwocky.

I am really glad that most of you are enjoying them. I tried to get as accurate as possible with these since I know there are those who are a stickler to details but I do hope what I have taken my liberties with will not disappoint.

The Jabberwock:

I went off the description from Tenniel's illustration:

the Jabberwock is a large winged chimera (mixture of several animals) with the body of a dragon, a whiskered, fish-like head, insectile antennae and a pair of talon-like hands on both its arms and its wings, which may also serve as forelegs when it walked on the ground. It also wears a vest.

So beware the Jabberwock! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

The Bandersnatch:

Though, the Bandersnatch does make an appearance in Through the Looking Glass and in the poem The Hunting of the Snark, all I could gather is that it is quite fast and has a long neck and frumious jaws. XD I figure feathers for speed and a mane to extend. Plus, those colors are quite fetching for one in Wonderland, don't cha think?

The JubJub Bird:

As with the Bandersnatch, not much came up with my search for the JubJub Bird except that it can be found in a "narrow, dark, desperate, and isolated valley. Its voice is described as a "shrill and high scream" like a pencil squeaking on a slate, and significantly scares those who hear it."

The Cheshire Cat:

As you can see (though poorly which is my fault) is either joining us or making his leave. XD I could only find that he was described as a tabby that can turn invisible. Most of his marking were inspired by Leurai's fat little tabby running around our house so I know I couldn't have gotten those too wrong.

And a side note, to those looking for a tri-colored caterpillar. The only one you will find is on the adoption page. You can only get red, yellow, or blue.

Thank you so much! I figured that the dragon-like one was the jabberwocky, but I wasn't sure. The other two I really had no idea and now I know why. Thanks again! This makes me love them even more.

It's a fun coincidence that we get Alice in Wonderland pets when I'm playing a game based on the same thing.

But It's weird that they didn't use the rabbit when it's so obvious.

Im a big Alice in Wonderland fan and i dont like the Cheshire store cat. I do have a reason.

Cheshire in my eyes will always be purple.

Why is he blue? Is he blue in the new movie? Ugh, i hate the new Alice in Wonderland.

Im sticking to the purple Cheshire cat, from the 1951 disney movie, whos confusing, and is voiced by Winnie the Poohs voice actor.

If there IS a purple Cheshire cat, could someone help me find it in the archives? If not, there should be one. Again, no offence, im not a fan of a blue Cheshire cat. The 1951 movie is a classic, and my favorite disney movie

Aaaaaaaaaand as always new awesome Store pets come out and as always I will have to look for someone who wants to trade them D: But well, that later, now I won't have any chances getting a set. I'd like to focus on this puppy:



The pixel idea intrigues me and the fact that it was made by Selcouth is for me just like a promise that they will be simply outstanding

Has anybody noticed, how many rats and butterfly wolves we got? They will have a lot of outcomes!



It's funny how the three pups have butterfly blankets, but the last one has a toxic-alike one. I think my favourite now is the 3rd one, I hope he will stay brown-white and won't get any other colour, but that's probably won't happen

I don't remember if he was there or not on the previous Christmas layouts, but where is Totoro?
I'm sure I've seen him in previous years... perhaps I was seeing things o.o
Maybe he'll pop up on the 18th. Anyone got any ideas?

Well, I do believe Disneys purple cheshire is copyrighted^^
And there isn't a purple one on CS, the closest would probably be the striped v-day cat from 09 or the Halloween cat from 10... But still this one is the only real Cheshire cat^^

Yes, it's stupid that it is blue. But I think it has to do with copyright. I watch the movie (1951) right now! xD
But I like the cat anyway! :3
