Can anyone tell me if they know an MLP episode with Dr. Whooves? Or is he a fan made character?
(sorry if this doesn't go here)

He's seen as a background character in many episodes, and I think he even speaks in one. Applebloom tries to sell him apples in that first CMC episode. His official name is actually Time Turner.

These are... interesting.

But what is 'shipping'- i never heard of it.

I will say though, Rarity is a pony. Spike is a dragon. I don't think that's gonna work...

I ship Rarity and Spike for a couple reasons:
A. Have you watched "Shrek 2" and "Shrek 3"? Donkey and Dragon have babies. If they can have babies, why can't Spike and Rarity? And I'm not talking about now. Just when they're older.
B. I think they're perfect for each other. Rarity may not feel the same way towards Spike at the moment, but I think she'll warm up to him eventually.
C. They're the only cannon couple as of now. There might be more later, but for now, they're really the only straightforward couple in the show.

Shipping is the same as saying "oh, I want this character to date/be girlfriend or boyfriend with this other character.
So, by saying I ship Spike and Rarity, I'm saying that I want Spike to eventually date Rarity. Make sense?

Do you not like some of my ships? X) That's okay. I'm not a fan of some people's ships, either. But that's perfectly fine; we all have different opinions.

He's a background pony in nearly every episode. You can find him in The Canterlot Wedding Parts 1 and 2 in particular.

I don't ship any ponies because i don't know many ponies- i only recently became an MLP fan at all! So i don't really have an opinion of whether i like or dislike any of the pony pairs you mentioned, booklover. The "interesting" part is because of the interspecies relationship between the dragon and the unicorn. And i thought the "joke ships" were very funny!

And i will have to watch that "canterlot wedding" episode- my friend saw it told me it's pretty good.
