I thought that was from The Jabberwocky?

The Jabberwocky was a poem from 'Through The Looking Glass' - which is a part of the original Alice In Wonderland.

Plus in the books, none of the aforementioned creatures are ever described so we don't know what they look like(The Jabberwock however gets a black and white picture with the poem but that's it). These these renditions of them are purely the artist's interpretation, just like the ones in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I don't see why everyone's getting their panties in a twist.
I personally think they look beyond wicked and really wish I could buy CS$ for these guys.
But alas, no credit card.

If I may, I would like to agree and add that of the illustrations present in the books, some of those are in and of themselves interpretations. Most notably, the art of Sir John Tenniel, the man who Lewis Carroll chose to illustrate the officially published version of his books, added a detail to the Knave in the pictures which was most likely of his own making. So, in essence, even the original took liberties with itself.

I adore the Bandersnatch and the Jubjub Bird.
The Cheshire cat is pretty cute, too.
I don't really care for the Jabberwocky.

Oh, cool.
Now I really want to find a copy of Through the Looking Glass. I've only read the first book.

I'm really digging the bat-winged Jabberwock here though. He's awesome.

Since Alice in Wonderland is in the public domain, you can find a copy online, and purely legally, to read at your leisure. Project Gutenburg is one of the better known sites for public domain works. I'm also starting Through the Looking Glass.
