Wouldn't the store pets all be copyright issues? They look a lot like Tim Burton's versions of those characters...

Apparently not... Or CS wouldn't have released them^^ But isn't Tim Burtons Cheshire cat grey with blue stripes? Don't know the other story, so I don't know about those.

There wouldn't be issues about the character itself, since the copyright should be expired by now.
Don't know about the resenblances to the adaption, though; didn't see it.

I'm not really digging the store pets this month. I mean, I love alice in wonderland, the original, the newer versions, the offshoots. But I'm just not digging the line art edits. I don't know what it is about them but something seems off.
I think my main issue is that they are store pets. Even if the book is beyond copyright period, it just seems rude to make money off someone else's original ideas and creations.
I mean if they were inspired by the book that's cool, be inspired, inspiration has to come from somewhere. But to make the characters pretty much straight up, and put them up for site currency that is purchased with real money to benefit the site. Not cool with me at all. Thus I will not be buying them or trading for them.
