Apparently not... Or CS wouldn't have released them^^ But isn't Tim Burtons Cheshire cat grey with blue stripes? Don't know the other story, so I don't know about those.

No, they look a lot like the characters from the original book - which is no longer set under copyright ^__^;

I doubt it. Lewis carol's books are beyond the copyright period.
Any work based off of them probably has some plausible deniability.
