He is crushing on no-one

I look at the filly and smile, a warm, honest smile, not a mischevious, charming grin. I look the filly up and down - a silvery sort of brownish-grey colour covers her front and hindquaters, and part of her feet. Black quip ripples across her shoulder, with a straight black marking down the front of her face. Two alert red eyes peer out, and the wind plays with her brown mane. Regina. That's an interesting name. I notice how her eyes rivet here and there, and the way her attention turns with them, and supress a laugh. "Do you like animals?" I ask inquisitively, an innocent question, perhaps sparked from my curiousity at her interest in the birds. She looks about a year younger than me, but must be at least 3 hands taller than I am. It's amusing, but in a sour way. Others call me short, I call myself unique. But I still wish I was taller, so in times like this I wouldn't be looking up at someone younger than me.

I hear another voice nearby, a shyer, quieter voice, and I turn. I look up and see an older equid, not as tall as Regina, but still taller than me. Grey and white quip covers her gray paint coat, and she seems wary, a little uneasy. "Hi." I offer, a friendly greeting she can either accept or regret, or ignore completely. "So... what brings you two wandering alone in the forest?" I ask, politely. I hope that the quiet mare doesn't feel imposed by the question - so seemingly simple but also a bit up-front. I've already made one enemy... all I need is to be rejected by a few more, and all of a sudden I'm an evil rouge out to get mares.

Siren

Siren let her posture relax from strained to look proper and appropriate to just arching her neck, in the natural elegance she carried about her. She wasn't asked her name so there was no need to give it, but she would answer his question out of the instinctual drive to be polite even to strangers. "Exploring. I own a thirst for adventure, as it seems many do," Siren offered in quick answer, leaving out the part her adventuring had gotten her very lost and alone. It wasn't intelligent to give a stranger the advantage of knowing your disadvantage. She only told Regina because of the obvious kick of adrenaline clouding her mind.

Drachme
Drachme trotted along through the trees, his neck arched regally as he kept alert for danger. He felt so tall compared to the other equids. He was just about as tall as they got standing at 14.3hh. If his legs weren't so delicate, he'd be more than rideable. In fact, a very small, lightweight child could probably sit on his back. Spotting a fallen log ahead, he quickened his pace into a steady canter and cleared it with ease, his legs tucking up neatly under his brindled stomach. he slowed down on the other side, his gaze falling upon the familiar shimmer and burble of water just through the trees. He closed the rest of the distance between the river, than lowered his long neck and drank deeply, his ears still perked over his head on lookout.

Waking up from under a cave that she had found the other night, Devoted's hooves dug into the sand right outside of the cave.. Well, at least it looked like a cave. If you would like to be exact, it was some hole in a " flat " mountain.

Yawning, Devoted flicked her long ears a couple of times in need to hear some danger near. She listened for 1, 2, 3 minutes but nothing. She sniffed, but of course smelled nothing considering that she relies more on her hearing than her sniffing sense, just like any other Wild Mountain Equid. Shaking out her " mane " the young girl began to search for food while being alert for any meat eaters at all times.

(Kirian neighed over the valley and Regina and Siren went together and found him after Siren got stalked by a mountain lion. And Drachme also found him but left. Drachme wasn't with Regina and Siren though. Now Regina, Kirian, and Siren are in the woods near the top of the valley I think talking and I have no idea where anyone else is.)

Regina
After watching the danty bluebirds flutter away and returning her attention back to the equids before her, she decided she would also, along with Siren, answer Kirian's question. She blinked her dry eyes as when she was absorbed by something she would forget to blink. She just thought the beauty of the bird was simply amazing. She looked at Kirian and replied to him, "I'm here because I heard you neigh, and I wanted to see who you were. I get very curious sometimes." She stamped her foot as an annoying bug kept crawling in it. Her deep red eyes scanned her surroundings, then the little colt in front of her. The almost swirled black and grey quipping on his shoulder reminded Regina of rivers, and the brown splotches were the land around it where equids would live. She imagine a beautiful, swirling river with bright green grass and lots of equids around it. Suddenly she was completely lost in her mind that she had to force herself back down to earth.

Personality:
Asteria is a wild child. She is always out adventuring and exploring new places. She is also very curious, always sticking her nose into things... which tends to get her in trouble. Asteria is normally very positive but she is something to fear when she gets into a bad mood. She is very out-going and fearless. She also is extremely loyal to her friends. Lastly, Asteria can be a bit rebelious.

History:
Asteria loved both of her parents but her free spirit gave her the urge to explore. She grew up straying further and further from home, trying to get her best friend, Artemis, to leave with her... but it never happened. So she left her herd and set out on her own to find her place in the world. So, here she is now. Wandering the mountains and loving every second of it.

I look at both the fillies and smile. "Well, do you mind if I join your little exploration group?" I ask, flicking my tail playfully. "I've only been in this area a short time, and it would be nice to get to know the area better." Those words are true - I would really like to know more about the territory, and other stallions around and stuff like that. Also, I must admit - I would enjoy the company, having others around than just myself. I look towards the trees, and see a small blue bird fly onto one of the branches and stare intently at Regina. "Of course, that's if you don't feel awkward with a stallion tagging along." I add, an impish grin accompanying my playful words.
