Hidden Powers (Accepting)

Welcome, you have wandered in to a city that has recently had some mysterious events that resulted in a gas being released in to the atmosphere. This gas has yet to affect anyone over the age of twenty five, or under the age of thirteen. The gas causes a genetic change based on the situation you were in when you were first exposed to the gas i.e. if in an embarrassing situation where all you wanted to happen was to disappear you might become invisible.

Where:
We are in a place most call the Inland Northwest, you are in Washington State, there is mostly wilderness around the town, but we are only a 2.5 hour drive from Seattle. You are in a town called Destin Révélé, but most just call it DR. There are two high school and middle schools in this town, and we rarely fight school vs. school in anything but sports. The town is on a river, and has a few miles of forest around it in all direction other than the main road.
What is going on:
Not every student has been affected, and a few weeks after the changes start to surface those who caused the gasses to be released in the first place are noticing the changes. We have realized that it won’t be long now till they start to collect us to figure out what caused the gas to change us. We don't know who They are, we don’t know what the gas truly is, or if it has truly reached the end of its effects. We all have our own lives and personal problems to take care of on top of these changes that leave us utterly drained after the first few uses, and an unknown common enemy.
Roles:
Some of us who have changed choose to commit crimes, others strive for fame and fortune by exploiting their new found gifts, some whose intentions are unclear, and those left desire to protect those they care about for one reason or another.

History (how you obtained this power): After a big blowout with my aunt about my social life I snuck out to wander down town for a while and cool off. As I was passing by and old forgotten building near the river I stopped to get a drink from my water bottle, and that was when the air became thick and hard to breathe. I kept thinking I need clean air and for this air to go elsewhere and the gas around me seemed to clear up and become much purer than the usual air in the city. after I caught my breath I decided to hurry home and hope no one saw me out there.

Five days after the explosion downtown last Friday evening, things seem to be going back to normal as I go to school. I seem to have not been spotted fleeing the scene so I just might be in the clear. Of course everyone is still raving about how the police unmasked a secret laboratory in the abandoned building with unidentifiable human remains near the source of the explosion. No one can seem to figure out what caused it, but the police are calling it a case closed any ways. As third period ends and I begin to head to lunch I wonder about just what really happened that night, as I head towards my usual lunch table someone throws a football across the lunchroom and called out to late for me to dodge. So as I turn to face the oncoming ball and tensing in anticipation of the pain as it hurtles towards my face when I realize that it’s slowing down, almost as if it is receiving more resistance than it normally would. when it does hit me it just bounces of causing no damage at all, but due to sudden fatigue I collapse. When I wake up in the nurses office I ponder what had happened, then when the nurse and some of my friends came in asking how I felt I replied that I was fine and asked them not to bother my aunt with a phone call. After I convinced them that I was okay I headed off towards my chemistry class hoping to make it before the bell rings.

History (how you obtained this power): Cara was practicing her dirtbike in the woods near an old factory when an explosion occured, and because she was startled she almost hit a tree. At that exact moment she hoped with all her heart she would survive this. She hit the tree and destroyed her bike, but emerged unscathed. She later learned through an incident with an exacto-knife three days later that she had REALLY hard skin, and she could controll this ability at will.

Power: He can read people's memorys through physical contact. In the case of dead people, thier last memories before they died.
History (how you obtained this power): He was working in the lab when he wondered how this person died. They had facial burns and a strange smell about thier skin. He brushed some hair out of the corpses face, and recieved his final memories in a violent factory explosion. He was shocked and ill after the experience and had to take several days leave. He later learned this ability applyed to live people as well. When Cara came to him with her ability, they helped each other to start to master thier powers. James has been reaserching the genetic mutation that caused the transformations.

Cara was sitting at her lunch table the day after the accident. She still couldn't figure out how she had miraculously managed to escape that crash unscathed. Her bike was a mangled mess and, heck, even her shirt was covered in scratches and other damage. But she'd walked away without and broken skin or bones. It's like the crash never even happened, and In all honesty she should be dead. She continued to puzzle over the new experience and enjoy a terrific sandwich when Cara saw her friend Courtney walk toward the table. She was about to call Court over when the king of all jerks Bryce Johnson in his too-cool-for-dress-code muscle shirt chucked a football right at her head. For a single second the football seemed to slow down in midair, before tapping her in the forehead. For a second Cara forgot to chew. What the heck had happened? When her friend collapsed Cara followed her out of the room to the nurses office. Partly because she was concerned, and partly because she needed answers.

While walking to chemistry with Cara Courtney needed to find out if she was going insane or not. "So Cara, uh did you notice anything wierd about the football that Bryce threw?"

Cara paused. "No, but I saw how it slowed down before hitting you when he threw it. There's definatly something wierd going on." They continued down the hallway. "Hey, do you think that maybe Bryce had it on a string or something? Like piano wire so it would stop before it hit you?"

"Hah, no hes not smart or kind enough for that, Cara, i think i did that... I dont know how but i thik it was me." Courtneysaid as they made it towards their seats and sat down to wait for the bell.
