I have found that many art shops seem to be charging more and more for artwork and characters. Now I understand that everyone is entitled to ask for what ever amount of payment they see fit. My friends (chosendragon and oldlizmar) and I believe this is a real problem, and here is why.

[Example] A new artist has just started getting some characters, and is also new to chicken smoothie. She has no rare pets or pets of an older year, she cannot buy C$ and she has no pets on most peoples wishlists. Sure she can try to "win" one of the free characters in the Oekaki adoptions thread, but there is a slim chance she will. Now all the free or really cheap adoptable pets that are put together in a rush and because of that she isn't very interested in them.

Now I understand the artist may be coming from another side and have to charge a high price, and here is why.

[Example] This seasoned artist has been around chicken smoothie for quite some time, she spends hours perfecting her lines and getting everything right. She has dealt with people not filling out a form or two and she has even spent hours on a commission only to have the person not answer back and never got payment. She has a high price on her work because she takes pride and is tired of having people not pay so she has the prices high so if someone skips out on payment she still has several rares from other commissions. She also knows that pets are "currency" on this site.

I am suggesting that we all work together to provide quality art work for reasonable or cheap prices.
For artists who have "teired" systems and offer different qualitys of artwork, such as sketch, normal, "premuim," etc. another way to do this is offer one or more of these tiers free. Now, I'm not suggesting that you offer EVERYTHING free, only as many as you feel comfortable with' with a list to keep everything in hand.

I thank each and every one of the artists willing to do this now the recommended time you stay in this program is at least a month but this is NOT a lock in date and it is NEVER a requirement. You can be open for as long as you want to as little as a day and if you want to opt out earlier than your automatic opt out date please just PM me about it and I will remove you from the list.

Rules

Everyone has them please don't skip over it I know it is quite a bit of reading but they are for organization purposes.

1.If you decide to go to one of the art shops please read ALL of their rules as they may be different from mine.

2. Never, ever, EVER be rude to anyone, this includes artists this includes customers and it includes anyone who ever looks at this thread.

3. If you see an artist has gone back to charging rares and such before their opt out date please don't rant at them and say their stupid or mean as it may be a problem on my part. Please just PM me about it and let me know and I will take care of it.

4. If you are an artist and you are offended by this thread because you charge rares and you feel I am attacking you I am truly very, very sorry. This thread is for nothing more than to give the people of C$ affordable art. I am sure you have some reason for your prices and everything but that is not what this is about and if you have a problem with it please just ignore this thread.

5. All of tess's rules apply.

6. Please keep spam at a minimum if you want to chat with someone just message them. Friendly bumps and or questions are aloud

What is considered "cheap"

cheap is alowing someone to offer any pet of any rarity

Example:
1 wishlist pet
1 rare of any species
3 uncommon of any species
5 common of any species
7 very-common of any species
10 OMG so common of any species

note: because you allow them to have an option of giving you ANY species you can set an amount of which they must pay. You MAY have rares listed on as an OPTION saying they can only pay you uncommon pets from 2010 in a certain species is NOT cheap as some people may not have earlier years. You may also add wishlist pets as an OPTION again only asking for wishlist pets is not cheap as they may not have any of your wishlist pets if you have all rares.

Rule breakers will be added to the black list you will get a warning, another rule broken and banned for life.. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me but there will not be a third time.

none at the moment, but this is where ill be putting updates, information and competitions.

You will also be warned if an artist is on their last day and are being automatically opted out

What if they get sick or are not responding to anyone for days?

They will be PMed and asked why they have not been around, I prefer if an artist knows they are going to be gone for a little while that they post it here or let me know or put it in their art shop. I will check the threads daily to be sure everyone says informed. If an artist does not respond to my PM within 3 days they will have a little lock put next to their link letting you know their is a problem.

I sent them a PM today but they never replied!

Calm down, they could still be in school or simply not available. Perhaps they share a computer with their whole family and are going to be on later. Please be patient these nice people give up their time to spread about cheap art. ^_^
