I live in South Mississippi. So far the oil has only come aground in Louisiana. But the worst is yet to come, Sources say its getting caught up in the gulf loop current and this will pull the oil south east into the Florida Keys. The reefs there now are already in bad shape due to storms and such but this oil is going to really do damage.
As it stands they think we are all idiots here. Turtles and Dolphins had been washing up here dead but yet the claim it has nothing to do with the spill. 20% of the gulf is now closed to fishing/oystering, and while I do not eat either its really going to hurt the livelihoods of people who harvest both for a living.
IMO every endangered animal found dead due to the oil, bp needs to be charged a fine for. The same fine as if a person went out and deliberately killed that animal.
The worst is yet to come and the sad thing is the average person can do nothing about it.
THE DREAMIEST OF DREAMIES- will over pay, have many very rare/rare pets & C$
Looking to fulfill your wishlist? I have lots of pets and items for trade. I am not expecting to get the last few on my wishlist, just to help others with their wish lists.RIP my sweet Sundog 2002-2019

*looks in ocean* No fishie dont die! *grabs fish and flings into a fish bowl* NO DONT YOU DIE TOO! *grabs fish* This is going to take awhile........ I wish the GOVERNMENT would do something to make it stop spilling more and more.
I haven't been looking forward to the day I have to say this, but I am officially quitting CS! Since '09 I have matured and just haven't felt interested in it anymore. I won't forget any of you guys who I have made friendships with, you've all been wonderful.
Peace out, don't do drugs, eat cookies, and be sugary. <33333

You can't get extremely mad at them, it was a complete accident and they are trying very desperately to fix this. A number of things has been tried already, but for some reason these things aren't working. The chance of oil spills are 1 in a million, it could happen to anyone. But if you add up how many seperate places that oil is being drilled for, and how many days in a year, then it means that something like this can happen about every ten years. The chance should be 0 'though. Not 1 in a million. Bp has offered to pay for all of this, but right now I thin that people should focus on fixing it, not blaming others. Don't get me wrong, this a devastating disaster. I'm one of those save the planet type of person, and I think it's just terrifyingly huge and I'm having a heck of a time getting my mind around this. When I think about what I can do, if feels like singlehandly taking down the Great Wall brick by brick.

Me being on the other side of the planet, am not entirely sure of the total damage. I absolutely hate oil spills, they make such a mess and kill things and are grotty and irritating and disgusting. I don't like it, but I don't blame BP either. It was bad luck for everyone, and BP are the ones getting kicked the hardest.

My work here is done.
Thanks again to those who entered in my competition. I'll be off now. Have a nice life out there.

OK let me get this STRAIGHT for the people how don't understand: BP had decided NOT to fix very importent parts of there oil drilling machen. They thought they could save money if they did't fix these parts. they KNEW something could happen and let it happen anyway. they indded up killing 11 of there own workers and millons of fish and other sea life because they decided NOT to make a yearly enspection. I rest my case at that.
EDIT: I know that they didn't exactly mean for it to happen to all the gulf, but realy, a yearly inspection would have helped..
