[size=85]The moment I saw this cutie, I knew I just had to have him. He is absolutely adorable, just sitting there on his flapjacks with the cutest little grin. I have recently received Amber, a maple syrup rune, and thought of the runes as two peas in a pod; they are absolutely perfect for each other. Amber flipped a little bit too, I think she has a crush on him. His colors are beautiful, I don't think they could have been picked any better.
Where will you keep him/her:
Jax will go in my signature, on my character website, and probably in an RP or two. Basically, he will go wherever Amber goes, because I think he likes her a little too.

"Amber, come on!" I had my pack in my hand, waiting impatiently in the doorway. I was taking her to the maple syrup forest today, but she was so slow waking up this morning. I hopped onto HrauniÃ's back and looked back to the house. Hraunià is my jewel mane dragon, he's pretty much my ride everywhere. Amber slipped from the window and fluttered lazily towards me. "I know your blood sugar is low, but the faster we get there, the faster you will feel better." Amber plopped down in my lap, letting out a heavy sigh. I snuggled her closer to me and we took off. I leaned back in my saddle as we flew, enjoying the gentle breeze. I picked up Amber and held her close in my arms, treasuring every moment I had with her, she is my little baby, and I spend every waking moment with her. The syrup drenched trees soon came into sight, and we fell into a dive. We landed softly in the plush grass, and I lept lightly off HrauniÃ's back. Amber didn't stir in my hands. "Amber?" I petted the top of her head gently with my finger, but she remained still, eyes shut. "Amber?!" I moved her in my arms and gently shook her. "No!" I ran quickly over to the trees and began to drip syrup into Amber's mouth with a leaf. "Amber!!" Hraunià ran over and began to soak himself in syrup. He ran over to me, motioning for me to get the syrup from him. Amber didn't respond, and a tear ran down my cheek. I sat her gently down on some moss and began frantically looking for a plant strong enough to wake her up. I turned just in time to see a large hawk swoop down and grab Amber in it's talons. "Amber!!!!!" A grief-struck cry for my baby exited my mouth, and I dropped to my knees. Hraunià tried to fly after her, but the syrup was so stuck to his wings he couldn't open them. I stood and began stumbling desperately for Amber, tears streaming down my face. I made one last grab towards the sky and collapsed. My vision became dim and I blacked out.
I awoke from my slumber and quickly cowered in the cover of the maple trees, hearing a hawk nearby. I looked down and spotted a young human girl, seemingly motionless on the ground below me. I looked up and spotted the hawk, also seeing something clutched in it's talons. It's was a small auburn rune dragon. It's small foot suddenly twitched, and I realized it was still alive. I released all my bundled up courage and lept from the shelter of the canopy, headed strait for the hawk. I flapped my wings as hard as I could, they were small, but they wouldn't fail me now. I was about a foot away when I pulled my wings in close and tucked my nose into my chest. I bulleted into the hawk's chest and it squealed in terror in pain, releasing it's clutch on the small rune. The hawk quickly retreated and the little dragon began to plummet towards the earth. I held in my wings and faced to ground, trying to catch up to the dragon. I was about an inch away from it and made one last diving effort, latching my claws onto her wings. I spread out to my very fullest wingspan, trying to slow our fall. We slowed, but didn't become suspended in the air as I'd hoped. We hit a branch and I gritted my teeth in pain, but I maintained a tight grip on the dragon. I pulled it close and took the impact of the branches, not wanting the rune to be hurt. We hit the ground and it knocked the wind out of my lungs. I dropped the dragon next to me and began gasping for air, trying to get oxygen into my lungs. My breathing slowed and my heart race began to level out. I laid still for a moment more and slowly stood. I wavered over the rune, closely examining it. It was a girl, and very beautiful at that. She seemed to be a maple syrup rune, and she was the most beautiful auburn like color. auburn suddenly became my favorite color right then, and I have no idea why. She seemed to only be unconscious, her chest was moving slowly. Her eyes suddenly flew open, looking strait into mine.
The rune quickly stood, and began to slowly back away, keeping her eyes locked on me the entire time. Her eyes were breath-taking; like every color you could spot during Autumn. "Please, don't leave. I won't hurt you, I saved you from that hawk." She stopped moving, but remained in a crouched position. "What hawk?" I realized that she had been passed out, and didn't remember what had happened. "You must have passed out, what is the last thing you remember?" Her shoulders relaxed and she laid on the ground. "Riding with my human on her dragon. I guess I lost consciousness, my blood sugar was really low. Oh, and I'm Amber." I grabbed a leaf covered in syrup and slowly slid it to her. It's an absolutely beautiful name. She cautiously began to lick it, but them began quickly eating it, realizing how good it was. "My name's Jax, and you're okay now. I think I saw your human. I saw a girl with curly hair laying on the ground nearby, she wasn't moving." The dragon perked up and looked around. "Where!? Is she alright?" I quickly responded, knowing she was upset. "I don't know, but she's this way." I ran in the direction of the girl, Amber close on my tail. We came past a large tree and there she was, the little girl was still laying there. Tears were wet on her face, and she had maple syrup all over her hands. She was breathing, but she wasn't moving. "Blair!!" Amber ran over and began to nudge the girl's face. She stirred and her eyes fluttered open. "Amber! You're okay!" The girl grabbed Amber and gave her a big hug, the little dragon seeming small compared to the girl. "What happened?" The girl looked at her and snuggled her close. "You were unconscious, and when I tried to feed you, a hawk swooped down and took you. How did you escape?" Amber glanced over at me, I was still hidden in the trees. "Jax saved me." Blair looked at her curiously. I walked out and slowly towards them. "Oh! A little flapjack dragon! Well hello little one! It's okay, I won't hurt you." She held out her hand, and I cautiously approached. "Thank you so much, I'm so grateful that you saved my baby." I smiled and hopped onto the human's lap. "It was my pleasure." The girl smiled and nuzzled Amber, I could tell they were close. "Blair, can Jax come home with us?" I smiled, but was taken aback. "Well of course, as long as he wants to. I smiled and hopped closer to Amber. "I would love that." A smile stretched across my face when I realized that I had a home and a two friends now.

Sweet
Jax is the sweetest little dragon, he'd never hurt a fly. He's kind to everyone, even those who don't treat him with the same kindness. I thin he gets it from all that sweet food he eats, or that it's just how he is meant to be. It's pretty hard to be mean to him though; he's always so sweet it's hard to not treat him with the same amount of affection. I love the way Jax can just blow off a rude comment and simply let it go, he isn't rude in return, doesn't ignore them, he just says something sweet in return, and it just makes you want to melt. He always makes me melt, if it's possible to die from sweetness, Jax would be the culprit.
Lazy
He's so lazy and relaxed, it's hilarious. Jax almost never does anything but eat; he just kind of sits around for the most part. He loves sleeping on flapjacks, he says they're fluffy and super soft. I always make them at night and in the morning, just for him to nap on. He's very spoiled, but I enjoy giving him everything he wants, it makes up both feel a little more content. I don't know how, but he seems to never gain any weight. All he does is sleep and eat, but he doesn't change one bit.
Affectionate
Jax is very loving and caring to those closest to him; his family and friends mean the world to him. He's very protective and affectionate of us, he doesn't like when people threaten or harm his friends or family, he gets really upset and starts banging some heads. He gets pretty feisty, a lot of times, I have to hold him just to keep him from attacking someone. He has so much love, and he gives it away so easily sometimes. I try so hard to protect him, I couldn't live with myself if someone broke his heart. I fear that one day he will give away to much, then he will regret it. Something like that happening to him could alter his personality permanently.
Bold
Jax may be pretty quiet, sweet, and lazy; but he's not afraid to stand up to someone. Whether it's to protect himself, his loved ones, or his flapjacks, Jax will protect them until the end. He's not afraid to speak his mind and share what he believes, but he remains polite, something that's very difficult to do when you're angry. Jax manages to pull it off, and his size doesn't seem to affect his confidence. He's very brave at heart, he just has to believe in himself. He has spikes of extreme bravery, and you may just think it's adrenaline, but it's all him.
Polite
I'm sure you think this goes against all Jax's other personality traits; but he manages it well. He always remains polite, no matter what happens and who he's talking with. He doesn't have a temper,and always keeps a level head; and a level voice for that matter. It's usually only people ranking above him that he is overly polite to, but for the most part, he treats his equals with just as much respect. Even to those below him, Jax respects everyone; he has lovely manners, etiquette, and even his voice always maintains a respectful and pleasant tone.
Curious
Jax is an adventurer at heart; you just can't contain him when he gets moving. He always wants to know why things happened, who made it happen, what exactly happened. He always wants to know those little things, like where that sound came from, why is the floor wet, who left the fridge door open; just little things like that are what interest him most. I will tell you though, you know he's serious when he's wearing him sleuthing hat. His curiosity, unlike what you may think, is very important, for I don't think we would have met if it hadn't been for his curious heart.

Sleeps on flapjacks
The only place Jax will sleep is atop a giant stack of flapjacks; nowhere else. I have to make them for him every night, just for him to sleep on. The good thing is, he always eats them in the morning, so at least he isn't wasteful. I tried to break him of the habit, I even made him a bed that looks exactly like a stack of flapjacks, but he refused. He won't sleep on just one either; it has to be six flapjacks every time, no more, no less. I know, it's silly, but he counts every single time.
Can't stand the word pancakes
Jax hates when people say pancakes instead of flapjacks; he just flips out on them. I often say pancakes by mistake, and he gets very upset, but I correct myself strait away, always avoiding disaster. I don't know why he hates the word so much. He normally pouts when I say it and don't realize it; I have to make him flapjacks then, just to get him to quit pouting. he's a child sometimes but he's young, and still has much to learn.
Doesn't like waffles
I tried to tell Jax that waffles are made of the same ingredients as flapjacks, but he just won't listen. I guess he doesn't like the way they look, or they just aren't comfortable enough for him. I don't know why, but Jax just won't touch a waffle; ever. He might not like that they burn more easily too, and that they are hard to just rip and tear with his feet and mouth. I just don't understand why he doesn't like them, but I'll ask him when he's a little more mature.
Likes wearing a sleuthing hat
Whenever Jax is trying to figure something out, you will find him wearing his sleuthing hat. It's a tiny little hat I made for him, with a bill on the front and back and made of a soft, tan plaid fabric. He always looses it, and I have to find it, because he won't search for anything without it. I made a spare hat just in case his is lost for good, He would be so upset if he couldn't find it. He's so attached to it; I don't know what he'd do without it, probably never solve anything, it just wouldn't be him.
