Yumi giggled and ran toward ger mother."Mama!"she yelped,dancing around Ayame's forepaws.

Kibo saw a rabbit eating some spring green grass in the distance. He crouched as instructed. "How about instead of rabbit we go after something your level lil' buddy. Rabbits are very fast creatures and they can make VERY sharp turns." Storm informed Kibo as he crouched beside him. "No, I want to make my father proud." Kibo defended. "But you don't need to break your ankle trying." Storm protested quietly. The rabbit suddenly looked up, saw something, and raced away. "See, I told you they were fast." Storm teased as Kibo watched in disbelief as his prey escaoped him. "No!!" Kibo hissed under his breath. "Remember what I said about patience." Storm said soothingly. "Okay, i'm sorry." Kibo said, sucking in a deep breath. "Let's try and find something like a wounded animal, they are much easier to attack and kill." Storm suggested. Together they padded deeper itno the forest.

Ayame nodded at Eyolf's words. "I'm glad you were able to do this," she said. In the corner of her eye she caught site of her daughters almost fighting to get to their mother first. She laughed, "Come here my pretty darlings," she paused, "Now would you like some milk or do you want to try some meat?"

Chinua raced after her quick sister and practically jumped on top of her mother. "I'm starving!" she yelled. She paused as she thought about her mother's question, "I don't think I'm big enough, or brave enough," she admitted with her head bent low. She buried her face in Ayame's fur and looked up with wide eyes. Noticing Yumi she hurried on, "I mean it looks disgusting!"

Eyolf walked over to where Rogue was sitting, "You haven't said anything for a long time." He paused, searching for answers in his loyal friend's face. "Is everything alright?" he asked. "You aren't having second thoughts are you?"

Kibo and Storm had reached a clearing where a doe was trying to deliver her young. She couldn't stand and was close to giving birth so she was defenseless. Kibo grinned. "This will be an easy kill, have fun." Storm advised happily. Kibo blissfully padded over to the doe and toyed with her some. He calwed her many times before delivering the fatal bite to her neck. The doe cried out in pain as she was being attacked. Her bulging belly gave one last effort to release her young but she was killed before it had a chance to be born. Storm raced over to Kibo and said, "Nicely done, but in a real hunt where the animal can attack you it's not wise to toy with them, even if they're on death's doorstep. They will fight back. But for now, let's just get this thing back to camp." Storm praised. After nearly 2 hours of dragging the kill back to camp they finally arrived. "Here you are father, a pregnant doe." Kibo boasted. Storm stayed back but he still smiled.

Eyolf grinned from ear to ear as he approached his son, "Well done." He bent down and licked Kibo's shoulder before taking a few steps back. "All right then, Storm, you have done all that I asked of you and I have come to trust you as a wolf, you as a member of this pack, a mentor to my son, Kibo, and you as a leader. I am fully prepared to allow Rogue to lead this pack with you at her side," he finished, bowing his head low.

Ayame stepped forward and faced Rogue, "Do you, Rogue, accept the leadership of this pack and all the responsibilities with it?" She paused, glancing at Eyolf, "And do you Storm accept the leadership of this pack and all the responsibilities with it?" She smiled at her mate once more before turning to stare at the two wolves.

Chinua stared at what was happening before her eyes. She bounded over to Kibo, "I don't get it. What's happening?" She paused, thinking, "Yeah, no, I still don't get it."

Rogue's voice shook."Yes.I accept leadership of this pack."

Yumi made up her mind about the food question."I wanna twy meat!"she whispered excitedly in a cute little excited puppy voice.

Ayame nodded at Rogue and turned to her eldest daugher. "Yes you can try some," she laughed, "But try not to interrupt again." She smiled at Yumi before turning to Storm, "And you, Storm, are you prepared?"

Chinua glanced back and forth at her mother and her daughter. She glanced at Kibo, waiting for his explanation.

Eyolf sighed as he watched his pups. They seemed to be growing so fast already. He closed his eyes, listening to the silence that had come over the camp as they waited for Storm's answer. He better not back out now, now that I finally trust him, he thought.

"YEAH!"Yumi cried.Then she remembered that she was not supposed to interrupt,and shut her mouth immediately.

'Yes, yes I am..." Storm said, an evil grin spreading across his face. Kibo looked at his mentor and laughed.

Eyolf started at the expression spreading across Storm's face until Kibo laughed. He looked down at his son and scowled, regretting his moment of anxiety. He turned and stalked away to his den.

Chinua stared after her father. She butted Kibo's side roughly, "So are you going to tell me what's going on or not?" she almost yelled. She gave a great huff and batted her brother's tail.

Ayame glanced uneasily between Storm and Eyolf before turning to Rogue. "I now denounce myself and Eyolf as the Alphas. Rogue, you are our chosen successor, and you may choose any wolf to lead by your side. Though I think we all know who that is," she teased, looking at Storm.
