The second, third, and fourth ingredients in the bag of Science Diet I looked at are grains.

MUST READ!
it's not just food that is dangerous! I have found BROKEN GLASS in a newly opened box of my cats litter! So be really carefull about buying kittie litter too! And in this case buying cheaper or more expensive litters docent mater! There are just some terrible people out there who may have been having a bad day and work at the packaging line and just decide to drop some broken glass in! Now I only found it when my brilliant cat Blue began to call for me, so I went down stairs to see what was wrong and she was digging through the litter box and pulling big chunks of glass out with her paws! And since then I have been so carful because it could seriously hurt a cat by cutting up there paws and even the less bright cats (like my other cat Wallace) could even try to swallow it! So just a word of advice! Be careful!

Hey what do you guys think on Nutro Ultra dog food? I'm getting a dog next month, and I want to feed it good food, without spending much money and this is looking good so far. If it's not good, then i'll use Blue Buffalo Widerness. Thanks for any advice

Nutro is defiantly a step in the right direction and generally better than grocery store foods. =) Its a bit carb heavy, but not awful. You can try looking in Taste of the Wild or even Earthborn Holistic. Both are great foods and pretty affordible, cheaper than BB Wilderness, but still grain free. <3
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

Reading through this again I realized we used to feed our dogs Ol' Roy... And our oldest, a German Shepherd, has had really, really bad allergies. We switched to a custom food through SmartPak, and he got a lot better but due to the shipment issues we had to stop that, and now we give them Taste of the Wild. The really like the Bison flavor and the Fish flavor.
