Zero ran, his bare feet sliding in the mud from the recent rain. He had to find his children, one way or another. Where were they? He'd made the mistake of leaving them with Val. Now, he just clawed his way through the dense green growth of the jungle, hoping he wouldn't find their bodies cold and still on the damp earth. He would go mad if he did.
He could hear a shriek in the distance, choked off suddenly. One of those monsters had taken another innocent life to sate their thirst. His speed doubled, his lungs achining in his chest, laboring to draw in enough breath to fuel his muscles. But he would never be fast enough to outrun those monsters.
Something dove out of the trees and tackled him, pinning him to the wet ground. He fought in vain, knowing he was only amusing his captor. When a pair of cold, icy lips touched his throat, he froze.
His attacker was shockingly beautiful, skin a snowy white that almost seemed to glow in the pale shine of the moon. Dark eyes stared down at him, but the cast of light was not angled right to reveal color.
They were a grayish brown, he kenw that now, he knew so much. . .
The man stood and jerked Zero to his feet, fangs revealed in a venomous smile that made Zero's skin crawl. A deep voice issued from those sinfully full lips.
"Antonio," the man purred, grasping Zero's chin with one hand and stroking the skin there softly. "You are the father of those beautiful children. The one Valeria called out to before I killed her."
Zero's heart sank. So the monster knew about his children.
Antonio hadn't been his name for several years, for a few centuries. Only the man who had murdered his ex-lover called him that anymore. Even Isshin. . .
Another monster arrived, pressing himself against Zero's back. As one, the men sank their fangs into Zero's throat. Their white hands groped and squeezed him as the blood was drained from his veins. He writhed between them, his lips spewing a mixture of languages as he begged for death to take him. Better to die now than to join these demons in darkness. He could feel his first attacker making multiple punctures, the punctures that would make him one of them. It hurt.
The dark-eyed man drew back, his lips smeared with a thick clot of blood. He sliced his own throat with his long nails, sending a rivulet down his skin that appeared as dark as his hair in the moonlight. He cradled the back of Zer's head and drew the young man closer, urging Zero closer to the blood.
"No," Zero cried weakly as he tried to turn hsi head away. "Stop."
Nida, it was Nida forcing him, binding him, trying to change him. The one who would kill his father and turn his mother and siblings into monsters.
Was he back, finally awakened from his long sleep? Was he-

To explain:
When Zero was still human years ago, his village was attacked by blood brothers Isshin and Nida. Nida wanted to change Zero into a vampire so they could be together for eternity, as he is quite obsessed with Zero. However, a necromancer from the village casts a spell just in time to save Zero from becoming a vampire. Instead, he is a half-vampire, and if he kills someone, he will fully turn.
This was one of Zero's many episodes. They are brought on because he was traumatized by what happened. When Nida realized he would never have Zero, he did this thing called "going underground", which means he moved to one of the underground houses in the frozen tundra and kept himself alive, but little else. When he came back, Zero felt it through their connection, and this was brought on.
So what do you guys think?
