She looked at Maybell, her expression fading into an emotionless look. "I think it would be fitting that we show her the lake first, considering that is where we drink from. Don't you agree?" Her voice was welcoming but had an icy tone to it. Without waiting for an answer, the alpha was trotting away.

Maybell nodded in agreement with her alpha. She knew that the alpha wasn't too fond of her, and then she saw the pup looking at her and tried to push away her clear distress about not being liked by the alpha. She just gave a half smile and licked the pups head, "Come on it will be fun I promise, and if not maybe we can sneak away, and I can show you some of my favorite hunting grounds." she said trying to look happy for the small pup.

Maybell looked down at the pup and tilted her head when the pup asked her what was wring. She just shook her head, "Nothing a young. Pup like you needs to worry about." she said pushing the pup forward with her paw towards the alpha who was walking ahead. May would stay behind and not get in the way.
