The she-wolf stopped suddenly in her tracks. As the stone hit the ground, only her own ears caught a slight pinging noise. Evolia slowly turned and strode back to Ruth, unable to hide a snarl. She was shocked, within her self, but couldn't surpress the sudden feeling of immence anger.
"PUT THAT AWAY!" She barked. Her voice shattered the calm and radiant essence in her normal tone. She looked mad with rage, hackles raised and fur nearly standing on end.

Wodahs just steped over Ruth. "What ever. Lets just go." "He thought of the rock though. "I wonder what that was about."

Evolia swallowed her growl, glanced yet again at Wodahs, then forced herself to pull her act together.
"Hurry up, Ruth!" She turned and began trotting off again.

Ruth pulled back her lips, exposing sharp fangs, though she still was in human form. She hissed lowly at Evolia, but tucked the stone into her pocket and got up, wondering what she knew about it. She growled at Wodahs, who was looking at her wierd, but the fangs had vanished. She was normal again.

With a small glance at Wodahs, Evolia tifted her tail and started to lead them back into the forest again, calling over her shoulder as she went,
"You might want to hurry. When moon high lowers, we'll have more trouble getting across."

"If you say so." Wodahs said breaing into a dash.

Ruth pondered that. "Why?" she asked, breaking into a run.

"Why?" Evolia echoed over her shoulder, her trot maching the speed of her brother's pace, yet still a little ahead so as to lead them, "Well, one night, I heard a few...sounds. Nothing to be afraid of, but then when day light came, I found a few dead merchants from a nearby village laying near the outskirts of the forest. They were all pale, and smelled like..." Evolia shook her head, as if trying to clear it some more, "Like they were just bags of meat. They were so pale. I cut them open and not even blood came out."
The black she-wolf leaped neatly over a protruding boulder. "Not far now," She added softly, looking up ahead. When she glanced out the corner of her eye to look at Wodahs, she asked gently and slightly sheepish, "Not that this isn't the time or place, but were have you been? You promised to find me ages ago." Evolia swished her tail, still bounding away, "Eh, but you don't have to tell me...If you don't feel like it." She added hesitaintly. Her ears lowered. Evolia had to remind herself that he was probably high tempered from their fight.

"Vampires." Ruth muttered under her breath. "Filthy blood-suckers, though I did have a cousin once, what was her name...? Yes, yes, Victoria, I think, and she was one of them... never figured how that worked out, us being related...." Ruth trailed off, because she realized she was talking to herself and the others might find information about Victoria... interesting. She stayed silent the rest of the way, but an air of defiance surrounded her, daring the others to ask about her dark heritage. She would tell them later, about the difficult, bitter journey she stood through to come here, away.... far away from her childhood.
