I just completed a move with my 5 Chichlids and 13 comet goldfish. (Never doing this again ever -.-)
We drove from West Coast back to the midwest. It took me 5 days and I was freaking out the whole time. I have 2 Jack Demspey Chichlids and 3 large Oscars and I had each of them in separate 10 gallon tanks in the back of my car for the whole trip. Nearly had a heart-attack every-time I hit a bump on the road because I thought I would kill them.

By the time we got back to my parents house my two Tiger Oscars had a complete roleshit. My bullyfish was suddenly very calm and my shyfish suddenly became the bully in the tank. I don't know if any of you guys are Oscar experts and could shed some light on the situation.

Their tank was set up back in June. My two Tiger Oscars are housed together and always have been. They aren't hurting one another but I don't understand why their personalities ... switched.

Oscar, as cichlids, can be bossy bossy fish. xD Its part of the reason I love them. Honestly its most likely because its a new environment and the original bullyfish may be weak and stressed from the move going the once shyfish the advantage. But really Oscar are solitary fish and do best on their own without other Oscar fish, the bullying may go down or escalate, its hard to say really.

'-__- I have a male and a female mollie (Long story, but I originally had gotten to females to avoid this problem) and the female is pregnant. Do you know how long the gestation period is? And perhaps when I should put her in the birthing/quarantine container? And unless they can just eat hard boiled egg yokes and brine shrimp, I doubt they'll survive very long..

They are pregnant 2 months if I remember right. Maybe one month, I forget. You should put her in the birthing container about 3 days before she gives birth. Don't leave her in long though, she'll get really stressed. Hope this helps.

A quick Google search shows that the gestation period for mollies is about 4 weeks or longer.

Remove the parent fish as soon as the fry are born. Those larger fish can mistake the tiny fry for food. You can use a bare tank, or a tank with only a few plants, to raise the fry. Avoid using power filters, since the relatively large holes in the intake tube could suck in the fry.
Feed a small amount of fry food to your mollies two or three times a day. The amount you will use depends on how many fry you have, but squirting out an amount about the size of your fingernail should be enough.
Watch the fry carefully as they feed. Remove any uneaten food as soon as you can so it does not foul the tank.
Supplement the commercial fry food with fresh food like newly hatched brine shrimp. You can buy a brine shrimp hatchery and brine shrimp eggs at the pet store. Pour the newly hatched brine shrimp into the tank with the mollies and allow them to feed. There is no need to remove those brine shrimp, since the mollies can eat at their leisure.

But if you dont want to raise them I believe that the parents will eat them.

is there a beta/marine snail expert here, preferablt the same person. Remember how i was talking about my five gallon tank? i'm not so sure about the gallon thing anymore. i found a booklet stating its a 10-gallon hexagon, not 5. And i have a female betta and two snails (i just found out one came of of the plant i bought for the tank. They are both male, so don't worry. (i've taken invertabrate biology)

I was wondering if i could get another beta or two (female of course) to establish a pecking order like you said.

Oh and also, my small animal vet teacher took some of the fish because the ones in her pond had died. she cleaned it out and got rid of the bullfrog she found eating them, by releasing him into a river about a few miles away. she set up the pond again. Now i only have three comets in the 29-gallon, and they seem to perfer being away from each other versus schooling like they did before. I gave away 10 comets in all, and one died behind the stupid filter yesterday. Now i just have Ponyo, Mcgee, and Suzie. i think suzie is pregnant though. my dad put her into a different tank to want and make sure its not the swim bladder thing because her tummy is swollen. I didn't notice it until now. I think my teacher might have baby fish in her pond as well, so i told her. she's going to watch and let me know.

Invert expert here. How do you know what sex they are? Most snails that come off of plants are hermaphoditic (or asexual. Can't remember which one). Anyway, stowaway snails are generally pretty quick breeders.

Because i have them in a tank together. A there is to eggs yet, b i know about squid anatomy and well, they have uneven body parts when they go by the filter, if you know what i mean... I got the plant about a month or two ago, and i moved the big snail/ yellow snail in there about 5 weeks ago, unaware of the new snail/ black snail being in there, i noticed him last night.

And also, do marine snails suck on to fish and eat the lime coating like plecostamus supposedly do (like i said on other posts, i've never had a problem)

And do you know about the beta issue/main issue. I can give you the snail's approxamate size both of them.

Are the snails both the same species? Are they they apple/mystery snails?
Also goldfish lay eggs then the male fertilises them so your female wouldn't be pregnant she may have eggs though.
If you want the accurate gallonage of your tank feel free to post the dimensions and are we could help you with stocking it

its a hexagon... how do i dimense that. and thank you. i honestly thought they lay eggs after fertilization, like chickens... maybe this is why i failed the fish unit... well, i didn't exactly fail, i just had issues, because the books are old and some are missing pages. i volunteered for a torn one, so my best friend could have the newer one. we had a larger class than expected.

I know the big snail, aka the yellow one with the brown shell who is about a quarter sized is a mystery because i bought him. The other one looks like a mystery black snail. me may not be. i honestly thought that mystery snails were called that because nobody knew the breed Umm i also thought there was one breed of snail. He may be an apple snail... they look exactly the same but in different colors. Also, they are behaving strangely. its not mating, because my ag teacher (the one who took 10 of my fish) has snails that she breeds and sells to stores, and the immature boys in the class drew attention to the mating snails. At least i think and hope its not mating. Oh the black one is about the size of a dime.

The big one likes to sit on to of the shell of the little one and it just sits there inside its shell latched on to the other. sometimes he eats off the others shell, but i havent seen the black one sit on the other's. Shouls i seperate the snails?

And also, back when i only had the yellow snail, i kept it in my 29 gallon. by itself with some goldfish. Why did it just sit above the waterline? I was afraid it died at one point. he was up, just sitting above the waterline... for an entire weekend before i realized it. i opened the lid and i almost got sick from the stench. he wasn't even inside his shell either! i took my fishnet and gave him a slight nudge. he dropped into the water immediately and floated there, before sinking to the bottom. Within an hour he started moving again. why did he do that? (this was before he went into my beta tank for being so lazy.)

I would separate the snails just in case but even if they do breed you can easily dispose of the eggs as apple and mystery snails lay pink eggs above the water line
