"The Lover Of Everything Maple"

The season of Fall is in full swing and many Rune Dragons associated with this month are making an appearance. I find many of these baby Runes about during this time due to this is usually when Maple Rune Babies hatch! The Maple Syrup Rune makes it's nests in the large maple trees that inhabit Eldemore. But unlike the green forest that many see, the maples have soft burgundy and purple hued leaves which make the quite special. These trees are beautiful during this time of year and they are almost always filled to the brim with baby Maple Runes lapping at the sweet nectar that forms under it's bark. Many maple farmers keep small bottles of syrup to suckle to the young and these babies love their syrup! It is their one and only main food source and they produce a sweet sappy scent that is both alluring and charming for the little guys. Their parents take very good care of their hatchlings but it seems this little baby was lost among the commotion. The trees are littered with these Runes so it is not uncommon to find a lost baby here and there. One of the maple farmers have been keeping it under their care for now but this Rune needs a loving home with someone who will feed it tons of syrup!

Amber is a very fierce young rune, she's a very polite, well-mannered rune but she doesn't like depending on anyone. She loves to be by herself.

Why do you wish to have him/her:
Failing at winning other runes that I have tried for hasn't got me down, it's made me even more eager to win. I love this species, and although I haven't got any runes yet, I follow everything that's happening and stalk designs and artists in my free time. I really love the fall-themed runes, they're really touching for me, because fall isn't just my favorite season, it's my happy place. Whenever I'm upset I can just go and lay in the leaves and watch the wispy clouds float by.

This little rune is just too cute. She may be sticky at times, but maybe that's how she stuck in my heart ever since I saw her.

Actually, I don't see me really wanting to breed her, I'd like to keep her as a baby forever and ever :)

{Sweet: You are what you eat
Dulce has always been thought of as having the perfect name, personality wise. Not only is she a charmer, but she doesn't have an ounce of malice inside her. Unlike many of her fellow rune dragons, she loves company, and people are drawn to her, just as people are drawn to maple syrup. Being young and naive, she will genuinely want everyone to feel happy. {I think that may have come out wrong . What I'm trying to say is that if you're feeling down, she'll be the one who comes over and tries to figure out what's wrong as best as she can. You know, instead of doing that 'polite' thing where you pretend not to notice :3} Most of her care packages include lots of licking and nuzzling.
{Playful: A playful path is the shortest way to happiness
Restless and energetic, Dulce could tire out the great Chuck Norris if she wanted to. She can really immerse herself in her own world- not blanking of course, but creating her own little worlds and living them, something we grow up to forget. As a baby rune, she tends to put her worries and responsibilities behind her and just let the good feelings rush through.

This one's a given-just look at that look in her eyes! In truth though, her only goal is the acquisition of more maple syrup. Of course, everyone is happy to humor her. :] If she goes missing for a while, everyone just heads straight to the syrup storage area where they find her amidst bottle upon bottle of spilled maple syrup, licking every surface around her.

{Stubborn: The facts of life are very stubborn things
Of course, no one's perfect, not even this adorable little dragon. One thing you should know about her is that she is quite stubborn, and has a very hard head. Figuratively of course, but I suppose you could make the argument that she does indeed have a solid..cranium. Anyways. I guess you could say she's been a bit spoiled, but who can blame 'er? She's got that irresistible charm :]. Because of that, she's somewhat used to getting what she wants, so as she's gotten older, and people have begun to stop treating like a baby, she isn't used to well...NOT getting what she wants. {Oh gosh my grammar is terrible :3}

Why do you wish to have him/her:
Dulce would be my first rune and, after browsing page through page of adoptables (and wasting away my eyesight :3), the rune dragons' unique linearts and designs kept coming back to mind. I had tried out for one rune before, but since then I've been shamelessly stalking these lovely creations. I'd never really connected with any of the other runes until I laid eyes on this adorable beauty :] I really loved the story that came with her as well.
Can I just say that I love maple syrup? As in I pour syrup on the most obscure things. {If you have just eaten a meal, you may want to skip this part since it includes some strange, strange food combinations} I love me some maple syrup on ice cream, cereal, pudding, nutella sandwiches, even rice sometimes :3. I know maple syrup is universally appreciated, which kind of makes me see Dulce as a connection between...worlds even?
Where will you keep him/her:
As of now I don't have a character thread because well...I don't really know what it is/how to make one c: {I'm such an amateur} But I'll definitely put her in my signature to show off to the world :3. Although I'm sure she'll like that as well.

Any Quirks:
Dulce, strangely enough, does not mind getting dirty. She often gets covered in maple syrup because she's just that eager to eat, but unlike most people, she won't mind at all. You know that feeling, when you get some sticky substance on you and you're kind of like 'Eurgh.' Well, she acts like it's nothing, like it's just naturally a part of her...oh snap. You may not find that that {hehe 'that' twice} weird, but it's hard to describe :]

An obsession with leaves. They are literally a part of her. Nuff' said.

I opened the car door and stepped out, nearly hitting my head on the frame. When I looked up, a cool fall breeze swept the trees, bring forth a sprinkle of leaves of the warmest hues- a crimson one, goldenrod, burgundy. From a distance, I head some music and other wonderful noises, and my attention gravitated in that direction. A figure just past the hill saw me and began waving frantically. I grinned and started sprinting down the hill, disrupting the peace and quiet that was fall, to reach my dad.

I leaped into his arms and tried to hold back my tears. How long had it been since I'd seen him? A year? He put his arm around me and began showing me around his maple farm, pointing at various things and introducing me to different people, but I could only think about our family-broken, disconnected.

I didn't want to worry him, he had enough to worry about. But he must've seen something in my expression that gave everything away. He smiled and told me that he had something special to show me, and walked out of the sugar shack, grabbing a few cans of syrup and a towel on his way out. Popping a maple candie into my mouth, I followed him curiously. Over here! he said, beckoning and walked over to a small circular shed-type structure. I'd recognized it the moment I arrived-long ago, or as it seemed, I'd love spending time in that shed because it had huge open windows and a sliding door that opened west, and I'd spent countless night watching the beautiful sunsets. The nostalgia was overpowering, really.

Dad slid open the door, grinning like he had some amazing secret, and a golden blur whizzed by, leaving a strong scent of syrup. Bewildered, I looked around, seeing nothing but the colorful leaves falling in harmony. Suddenly, a large drop of syrup splattered onto my head and slowly dripped down to my face. Dad was holding his sides, doubling over in laughter while I was frozen in shock. Slowly, I looked up. On the branch above me stood a minuscule rune! Still in shock, I watched as the tiny creature fluttered down and landed on my shoulder, gazing at me expectantly. He.....or she? was dripping syrup and had leaves stuck on the body. My dad had recovered by now and handed me a towel, telling me that he'd found this rune a few days ago by the edge of the forests. Using my free arm, I began mopping up the sticky syrup when the rune hopped onto my ear and began licking the syrup off of my face. I started laughing, laughing so hard I couldn't breath, harder than I had in a long while. I couldn't help it-it tickled! After finishing off most of the syrup on me, the little dragon hopped back onto my shoulder and we simply stared at each other for a while. Dad coughed to get my attention, and tossed over a can of syrup.

So began the unforgettable time I spent with Dulce, as I named her for her 'sweet' disposition and well...sweetness overall!

When it came time for me to leave, the little rune stubbornly stuck to me, and she has ever since.

Sweet as Syrup

Maple is a sweet little rune who likes to be around others and help others. She likes to eat Maple Syrup as you can guess and never misses a chance to eat some. She also likes to be sweet around others she can be a little weird but she is very sweet!

Shy like a turtle

Maple is very shy around new people and will stay so quiet at times you forget she's there. She is shy like a turtle when someone is trying to get it out of its shell. She will hide behind me, Spade, or Grass if she is being really shy around new people it took her awhile to get use to even! And sometimes she is just shy to people or runes or animals that she has known for a while!

Friendly like a cat

If maple isn't being shy around you she will be as friendly as a cat of course she doesn't purr but she loves to have people or really anything watching her when she isn't in shy mood. If she is being friendly she will try to see if you can fly like her and all and if you can't she will get you some maple syrup!
Why do you wish to have him/her:
What drew me to her is that she loves Maple Syrup! and how she is! I love Maple Syrup to! So that is one of the reason's I like her I also like the way she looks and the way her personalty is and the little leafs on her wings I love that! Also her eyes and the syrup on her head and tail and wings.
Where will you keep him/her:
In my sig with Grass, and Spade even through I don't think Spade wants to share.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yes Maple may breed in the future but I will pick carefully who I think she should breed with.
Any Quirks:
Maple loves to drink maple syrup as you can guess. But she likes to keep a bottle by were she sleeps and sometimes daring storms she will fly into my bed with it and curl up with me and the syrup bottle. She also likes to tease Spade by dropping a little syrup into his bed and see him fly up in shock as he lands in it.

Story

[size=85]It started out like a normal day i guess. I woke up yawned rubbed my eyes then walked over to the other side of my room near the window and woke Grass, and Spade. Spade didn't want to get up like always so I let him sleep a little longer as I made my way down the stairs Grass hopping down the stairs after me towards the kitchen him still not fully awake to fly yet. I yelled up the stairs for Spade when we got to the bottom and heard him making his way then saw him at the top of the stairs and leaping into the air before gliding down and landing on the floor near me and stabling on his landing then following as we all make our way into the kitchen and my new cat Smokey is sitting down there her grey, black, and white pelt shining a little. She meows at me as Grass fly's up onto the table and pokes me in my back. I laugh and say "do you guys want some pancakes? Smokey I'm giving you some cat food." I just put the cat food down and am looking through the fridge when I see that were out of Maple Syrup! I don't say anything at first then say 'Grass, Spade want to go to a Maple Syrup farm? We need to get more!" They all look at me like saying "go get some then." I roll my eyes and say "you guys are soooo helpful." Grass jumps off the table and fly's to the counter and opens a drawer. While I walk towards him and see a phone book. I laugh then pick the phone book up and start to go through looking for a Maple Syrup farm is. After half an hour of looking I found one and got Grass, and Spade then we left my home and made our way to the farm.
~~~One hour later~~~
I was walking beside a farmer as we talked he told me all about Maple Syrup even through I wasn't really listening. But then I saw a small rune looking out at me from a window. The rune's eyes were maple color leaf colored, the rune had light gold on it and brown on its feathers, the little rune also had Maple Syrup on its head, wings, and tail and had a bottle of Maple Syrup beside it. The farmer saw me looking at the rune and took me inside to show me it. I found out the little rune is a girl and can be really shy when you first meet her, but after about playing with her for 2 hours she became as friendly as a kitty cat. She loved to flap her wings and try to fly she isn't that good but Grass, and Spade our helping her. We played for a while before I asked the farmer about the Maple Syrup bottle and he told me about the rune and how her kind loves maple syrup. It made me laugh but I liked it. Awhile after asking I started to call her Maple and she seemed to like it and was trying even harder to fly and stay in the air she seemed to have taken a liking to Spade. Maple later fall asleep in my arms and she looked so cute when she was asleep of course the maple syrup on her made her stick to me a little but I was OK with it. Later I guess I fell asleep to because I woke to the farmer telling me I had to leave and Grass, and Spade asleep beside me. I nodded and went to stand and woke Maple,Spade,and Grass. Grass and Spade fly towards the door ready to leave when I felt a head against me leg and looked down to see Maple looking up at me her bottle of syrup beside her. She looked up at me with her eyes huge and wide and I know I couldn't leave her so I said "hang on a minute" to my runes then went to find the farmer. When I found him I told him how I would like to take Maple off his hands if I could and that she seems to like me, Grass, and Spade." He thought and asked a few questions then nodded and said I could take her I was so happy and shocked that when I told Maple she can come with us she leaped into the air flapping her wings hard with happiness while Spade and Grass fly circles around us. I picked Maple up and then the bottle and said "god bye" to the farmer before going home with Grass, Spade, and the new rune in the family Maple (who is doing really well at her flying).
