[ I just remembered that at the start of the roleplay I made Gale illiterate /le derp/ so him having a phone may be a little problematic. Ah well, he's just that cool, I suppose. ]

Gale was right, Riley did know May-Lee. She had to admit, she was pretty annoying. Sort of like a curious three year old. But even more agitating. In her science class, May-Lee sat right next to her. They always got in trouble for talking. She was nice and all, but sometimes May-Lee could be way to talkative and happy. "Yeah, I d-"

Gale's held fell forward, his eyes closed and his mouth opened, and Riley knew he was asleep. She smiled slightly and patted him on the head. Opening her eyes wider, she rubbed her hand on the window, eventually clearing away all the steam. Now she had to be alert.

Gale's eyes snapped open and he sat bolt upright, staring around him like a startled rabbit. What … how … oh, s---. Great going, Gale.
The traffic had moved on and Riley and him were now parked in the middle of the motorway. He frowned hard and smoothed down his sleep-messed hair, rubbing his eyes. He couldn't tell if she was awake of not, but I'd she was asleep then he wouldn't blame her. The previous day had been completely crazy and he probably would've falled asleep at the wheel snowstorm or no snowstorm.
The snowstorm. Massaging his temples, he started the car and slowly shifted forwards into second gear. The Ferrari was smooth and sleek and responded effortlessly to his every command. He loved it to bits as it went from nought-to-sixty miles per hour so he could fit in with the other cars. The police were no doubt searching for them at that moment in time … for him supposedly kidnapping Riley and for him being a Secret. He wasn't sure if they knew whether the girl beside him was and it was probably better if they kept it that way. Then, if they were caught, Riley would be safe. He glanced at her again, chewing the inside of his cheek.

Quinn glanced back. All that was left was a trampled Cheetos bag, and a couple teens. Wow. They had completely devoured those. Quinn took a deep breath after May-Lee had finished her rambling. Trying not to sound annoyed, he said, "No, you didn't wake me up. I'm sort of a night owl." Quinn really liked the night. It was pretty much in his nature. During the night, he felt more energized and alive. "Well, I just got attacked by my fellow Secrets. For some Cheetos." Quinn chuckled. That did sound pretty weird. "I'll come over." Would he use his powers to come over? Quinn didn't usually use his powers, but May-Lee still didn't know what it was. He supposed he should use it, only because she still didn't know what it was. If May-Lee knew his powers, then she would know what he could do in a life-or-death situation.

Quinn hung up, stuffing the phone back into his pocket. Concentrating hard, Quinn quickly melted into his own shadow. Now he was invisible - only a shadow in the night. Taking a big breath, Quinn began moving. He still felt like a human, but he was only a dark figure. Quinn could feel a shadow, as well as seeing it. He focused on the shadow of May-Lee's oak tree, and suddenly he was at the trunk, a regular human again. Adrenalin coursed through his body, and he was panting heavily. Smiling to himself at how well he did, Quinn looked up. "I'm here."

May-Lee swung her legs back and forth below her as she sat in the tree, studying a neon pink-coated nail critically. Her blonde hair was tugged into two pigtails, six-year-old style, that trailed loosely down her front. The ends were dip-dyed neon pink to match her nails. She needed to steal some more hair dyes … the pink was slowly and surely fading and having the same colour twice in a row was just … wrong. "Cheetos?" She exclaimed suddenly, staring down at the phone beside her. "And you didn't save any for me? Sheesh, Quinn. That's low." The phone cut off and she locked it again, pursing her lips and suppressing a yawn.
In actual fact, her statement of 'why don't you magic over' had been a complete guess. May still supposed he was one of the Secrets who didn't know their power yet or simply didn't wish to share it.
'I'm here.' Her eyes snapped down to the bottom of the trunk and she jumped off the branch, hanging upside-down in midair. "That was quick." Folding her arms, she fixed him in a mock-suspicious-glare.

Quinn barely flinched when May-Lee basically jumped out of the tree fearlessly, and then flipped upside down and started floating. He was used to it. She did those sort of things all the time. That was just how she was. She had always scared her with doing all those stunts and floating around and stuff, but eventually he got used to it.

Keeping the smirk, he said, "Yes, yes it was. I surprised myself." She knew he was going to ask how he got there, and why she didn't know about his powers. May-Lee glared daggers at him. Raising his hands in the air, he asked innocently, "What?" His body was still pumping with adrenalin, and he felt powerful. Shadow Travel always did that to him.

May-Lee pursed her lips, slowly drifting upright and yawning loudly. "You got here fast, mister. Very fast. It took me a long time to get here and you're just like poof yay cheetos I'm here." It was possible his power was something like time-travel or teleportation, but she'd never seen two Secrets with the same power before and it would just be … wrong if they did. Her eyes scanning him suspiciously, she burst into another sentence without waiting for his reply. "Oh, never mind. You're here and I've got someone to ann- uh, talk to. Yay!" Pushing herself through the air, May mimed swimming through the sky for no paticular reason.

Quinn laughed, a hint of nervousness in his voice. He held his breath after, and waited for May-Lee's question. His eyes light up with surprise and relief as she changed the subject. Good. He didn't feel like talking about death and spirits and Shadow Travel right now.

"Yeah. So.... what do you feel like doing?" Suddenly, Quinn flipped backwards off the large trunk of the tree, completely out of boredom. His completely black hat flew off his head and into the darkness. Luckily, he could see it barely. Shaking his head once, he got his hair back into its usual floppy position, and he put his hat back on.

May-Lee floated back down into the branch, her head tilting to the side a little. Leaning backwards and twisting onto her front so she was lying on the branch and facing Quinn on the forest floor, she shrugged. "Eh, I don't care. Anything's better than staying in boring look-out." She drew out the 'loo', blowing her pink-streaked pigtails away from her face.
A shadow moved in the darkness but she didn't take any notice of it: it was probably just a Secret who was good with animals or could manipulate shadows and was trying to creep her out or something. She was used to it. People always tried to get her back from when she played pranks on them. Turning her attention back to the boy before her, she waited expectantly for an answer.
