Vallerie glared after the retreating fae and turned her back. She sniffed the air, and then crept back into the trees, desperately searching for the pack that wasn't there.

Vesper's ears flicked. All seemed quiet but the peaceful quality she had been expecting wasn't there. Through slitted orange eyes she glanced around lifted herself from the ground and stretched. It didn't seem quite so warm anymore; it was late in the day and noticeably cooler. As she started back towards the pack she realized she could hear the sounds of fighting further on.
