Lacy smiled and jumped up to the large bonfire. she smiled as she watched the unique ritual take place. All the wolves who stood around the fire, if they wanted, to gain a brand symbolizing they had seen pepper become the new alphess. One of the humans pulled a hot iron, with the design of a cirlce, about an inch and a half in diameter, from the fire. he walked to the nearest wolf waiting and pushed it against their shoulder, the smoke rose from the burning fur and flesh. A mark the wolf would be proud of.
