Owner Name: Assassin*Cat Name: Sunflower would be his name. I picked this because he is a Sunflower rune, after all. You might think Sunflower is a girl name, but I think if I can have a rooster named Sunny and a rooster named Trixie, then I can have a rune dragon named Sunflower. Gender: Male Personality: Sunflower is just how he looks, sunny and bright! he loves everybody and everything. Even with loving everyone and everything, he loves nothing more then sunflowers. He could spend all day in his sunflower garden. He loves the sunflowers like a child. He will hug them and kiss them. He reads to them and waters them everyday. They have gotten 10 feet tall already, and they were only planted this summer! When one of them dies or starts to wilt, it's as if he can feel there pain. He will stay in the garden next to the wilting one in till the very end. Taking care of his sunflower garden is his life. He hates to see people and other runes eat sunflower seeds, as they are his 'grandchildren' as he puts it. There is an ever present smile upon this little guy's face. Even when your in your worst mood, all you must do is glance at him, and take a moment to look into his eyes, and your in a good mood. On the rare occasions when Sunflower is sad, he will stay in his garden all day, singing the most pity full song, his wings drooping. He loves to run and play. Sunflower is very accepting and lets others boss him around. It's rather sad, and Bramble will often protect him. Why do you wish to have him/her: Well, for one thing, he is just so adorable! I knew from the very first day I saw him that I wanted him, and that he had made a place in my heart. I swear that I nearly fainted when I saw him. He is the perfect 1st baby rune for me, and I don't know what to do without him. Where will you keep him/her: I would redo my siggy.... Again, to include both him and Bramble. Sunflower's picture would also be up on my art room wall, with all my other adopted pets. Would you like to breed him/her in the future: If I ever decide to grow him, then I might. Right now, I am just enjoying his love and cuteness. Any Quirks: He has a sunflower garden. Other: For art, I made the borders. There is much more to come!

Owner Name:lemondropkittenName:Tourmaline.
I knew I wanted to give this special boy a special name. But what kind of special name? A fancy name? A name in another language? And then I decided to name him after a gem! I looked up "yellow stones" and the Tourmaline popped up. I thought the name fit him quite well, and his sister is named Ammolitia, which also has to do with gemstones, and I think it would be cute if they both had gem names. And so I decided to use Tourmaline as this sweet guy's name. This may sound weird, but I have always loved shiny things. I hate wearing jewelery, but I love the shininess of it, and so I tend to collect jewelery and other shiny things. I love gemstones, and I love naming my characters after them. Tourmaline may be a little bit of an unusual name, but I think it fits this boy. I really like the name for him, even though it has nothing to do with sunflowers! I hope you like the name as much as I do.Gender:MalePersonality:Playful.
Tourmaline is very, very playful. He loves to fly around Lemon's cottage with Candy at full speed, or outside. He loves to romp and play in Lemon's garden with Candy, Trinket, Cattail, and, occasionally, Sparrow. He is defiantly a playful Rune, and would gladly play all day and night if it wasn't for that pesky drowsiness when night falls.
Full of energy.
Tourmaline seems to have a never ending supply of energy. During the day, that is! When night falls, Tourmaline gets tired almost immediately, and likes to sleep in a basket that is placed next to Lemon's bed. During the day, though, he is a flying yellow and brown, blue eyed ball of energy. Though a clumsy flier, when he is very energetic, is quite fast.
A little shy.
It may be hard to believe, but Tourmaline is a little shy towards strangers and Runes he doesn't know. Once he knows the person or Rune won't hurt him, he is quite friendly and happy towards that person or Rune. The only time he is not happy or friendly toward someone he already knows is if they try to touch his sunflower he carries with him.
Collects things.
Tourmaline loves to collect things. It doesn't matter if it's seeds, sunflowers, stones, dried flowers, or even jewelery! He is attracted to shiny things, small objects, and, strangely, fishing lures. He will sit, hidden in reeds, watching for someone to cast out their line, and before it hits the water, he quickly flies by, snatching the lure right off the line, leaving the fisherman confused at where his lure went and what the yellow and brown blur was.
Not the best flyer.
Though he is fast, Tourmaline is not a the best flier. When he flies, he wobbles and zig zags and turns in wide circles, and when he lands he tumbles or crash lands. He is also not good at gliding or taking off, though Candy is teaching him and he is getting better at flying, though he will most likely never be as good a flier as her.
Prefers warmer weather.
Tourmaline prefers summer or late spring. He does not like cold weather, and shivers if the weather is too cold for him. He loves to lay in patches of sunlight, but hates snow and rain, and just like cold weather, if he's wet he shivers. He does not like very hot weather, either, and prefers the weather to be between 60 and 75.Likes:Gold finches.
Tourmaline loves the small, yellow, black, and white birds. He loves to watch them eat the seeds from sunflowers in Lemon's garden, and often joins them in the sunflower seed feeding frenzies. He also likes to fly with them.
Sunflowers.
Tourmaline, of course, being a Sunflower Rune, loves sunflowers. He loves the actual flower, the seeds, and basically anything to do with sunflowers! On warm days, he can often be found playing or napping among the sunflowers.
Seeds.
Any kind of seeds Tourmaline loves. Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and any other kind of seeds. He, oddly enough, loves bird seed, and it is not unusual for him to join the birds when they come to the feeder.
Yellow things.
Tourmaline, like he is attracted to shiny things, is also attracted to yellow things. Yellow feathers, yellow beads, yellow flowers, yellow pieces of cloth, anything yellow he loves.
Playing.
Tourmaline defiantly loves to play. He is a happy, playful Rune, and enjoys playing with Candy, either in the woodlands, in Lemon's cottage, or in her garden. Tourmaline can gladly play all day.
Lemon's garden.
Tourmaline loves Lemon's garden. It is full with creatures, such as birds, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, bugs, and sometime even deer pass through it. He loves to play in her garden, and it is very beautiful during the summer, filled with flowers and wildlife.Dislikes:Flashing lights.
Flashing lights make Tourmaline dizzy, and he can't look at something that flashes for long. For example, lightning, the flashing of a fire, or if someone was turning a flashlight on and off.
Sudden loud noises.
Tourmaline gets spooked by sudden loud noises, such as thunder, the sudden chirp of a crow, or once, in Lemon's cottage, Lemon dropped a pan on the kitchen floor by accident, and the noise spooked Tourmaline so much that he flew around the cottage at top speed.
Getting wet.
Tourmaline hates getting wet. It makes him shiver, and he simply does not like the feel of water on his feathers and fur. If he's caught in rain, he gets quite annoyed, and demands to be dried off immediately.
Cold weather.
Tourmaline does not like cold weather. Cold air, cold rain, cold snow, cold anything. He prefers warmer weather, when there is no cold rain or cold snow, or really cold anything.
Snow.
Unlike Sparrow, who loves snow, Tourmaline does not like snow one bit. At the first sight of a snowflake, Sparrow flies through the air in happiness, but with Tourmaline, he just sighs and goes back to whatever he was doing.
Birds of prey.
Though Tourmaline does like birds, he is scared of birds of prey, such as hawks and eagles. At the first sight of a bird of prey, he flies towards Lemon or whoever is with him, or goes and hides. Why do you wish to have him/her:Wow, there are so many reasons! I absolutely love sunflowers, and his mother is one of my favorite Runes. Thanks to the bird seed we put out for the birds, every summer in real life many tall sunflowers blossom around the yard among the thistles, attracting gold finches and other sunflower seed loving birds. Sunflowers are simply beautiful, and I love how they look and how many birds they attract to our yard, and so when I this boy was a Sunflower Rune, and the son of one of my favorite runes, I fell instantly in love.
When I heard he was going to be put up for adoption, I waited anxiously until he was, and when I checked the baby Runes and saw the "adopt me" sign, I immediately filled out the form for him. His eyes, his colors, his design, and the little sunflower he has with him, everything about him is pure adorable. If I won him, I can't explain how happy I would be. I would probably fall out of my chair, and then run around the house in joy and excitement. Thank you for the chance at getting this darling little Rune.Where will you keep him/her:I would, of course, add him to my Rune Dragon thread, spoil him with art stories, and simply love. This may sound silly, but I sometimes imagine my characters and Rune Dragons and such in real life, and so in even if I wasn't giving him much attention on here (which he would be getting lots of attention on here) I would be giving him lots of love and attention in real life. I would also sometimes put him in my signature, and proudly show him off. He would be also sketched a lot in my sketch book along with my other Runes.Would you like to breed him/her in the future:If he ever became an adult, yesAny Quirks:Tourmaline loves to collect sunflower seeds and give them to his friends. Though he is small a Rune, he can't carry many seeds around, but he can often be seen flying from flower to flower like a bee, but instead of collecting pollen collecting seeds. He then gives the seeds to one of his friends, and sometimes Lemon bakes the seeds, making them crispy and crunchy and even more delicious. He also sometimes joins the birds in eating sunflower seeds, and will perch on the strong stalks with the birds and chirp happily while collecting and eating seeds. Sometimes Candy joins him in the gathering of the seeds, but mostly he does it himself. He defiantly loves to collect seeds, and is always looking for a nice patch of sunflowers to collect seeds from.
Tourmaline likes to hop from chair to chair without flapping his wings in Lemon's cottage. It's a game he and Candy play, and is very funny to watch. They rather awkwardly leap from the chair to the table and to the couch, to the kitchen counter and back onto the chairs. They must not flap their wings when playing the game, as Tourmaline and Candy decided flapping their wings during the game is against the rules. Though, when Cattail tries to join in the game... well, there is usually a lot of stuff knocked over.
When Tourmaline came into Lemon's cottage one day to find her sweeping the floor with a broom, he flew down and started trying to attack the broom! He chirped madly at the broom, and flew around it, trying to bite it. Lemon laughed when folded his wings around the broom handle, making it look like he was hugging it. It was like the dog and the vacuum, but instead the Rune Dragon and the broom.Since then, whenever Tourmaline sees a broom, he hisses and chirps at it and starts trying to attack it.Stories:It was quite a chilly day. I could see my breath as I left my cottage. As I pulled my coat over my shoulders, I looked down at Trinket, who had a built in fur coat. Cattail was sleeping inside. He wasn't a long furred cat, and didn't like the cold very much. I suddenly heard a happy chirp, and Candy flew out of my cottage. She twirled through the air in excitement.
It was just before dawn, and we were headed to Gemstone's cave to watch the sun rise. It was pretty much still dark, and I shivered as the wind blew towards me. But Candy kept flying happily, barely noticing the cold. We reached the woodlands in a few minutes, and suddenly, Candy took off into the trees. For such a little Rune, she sure is fast! I thought to myself. "Candy! Where are you going?" I called.
Just then, I heard the almost silent beat of wings and the smell of mole berries. I turned around to see my beloved Sparrow, flying around in circles and licking mole berry juice off of her lips. "Hi, Sparrow!" I said. Sparrow chirped happily and landed on my shoulder. Candy hadn't gone anywhere, and was gliding on a current of warm air high above us. Trinket at my side, Sparrow flying a little ways ahead of us, we headed toward Gemstone's cave.
I had no idea where Tangerine was, but when we got to Gemstone's cave, we found out. She was curled up next to a rock sleeping peacefully. I tripped over the many little stones and rocks that surrounded Gemstone's cave, and when I reached it I sat down on a large rock next to it. Sparrow hopped inside Gemstone's cave, and just as the sun began to rise, Gemstone came out of the cave. Sparrow, who had been perching on my shoulder, chirped. I wish I knew what they were saying. I thought to myself as they both headed into the cave. Candy was flying high above us, chirping, Tangerine was sniffing the ground looking for lizards, and Trinket had curled up next to the rock I was sitting on.
---
"A baby Rune?" Sparrow chirped, following Gemstone as he turned toward another cave passageway. "Yes. He had a little sunflower with him, and was carrying some sunflower seeds when I found him. He must have been flying in the storm and gotten knocked out of the sky." Gemstone said, referring to the storm they had the other night. "And I suppose you were sitting in a dead tree watching the lighting." Sparrow sighed. "Do you know how dangerous that is?" She said. "Yes, dear, but it's fun to watch it streak through the sky." Gemstone said, rolling his eyes. "Anyway, the poor little Rune's wing looked broken, and when I tried to touch it he chirped." Gemstone turned down another cave passageway, and suddenly they were in a cavern.
A little yellow Rune was curled up in one corner, sleeping. "Are you sure he's not going to attack me?" Sparrow said nervously, bobbing her head and taking a step back. "Sparrow, he's not going to attack you!" Gemstone said, flying over to the little Rune and nudging him with his wing. The little Rune blinked open his eyes and chirped, quickly jumping to his feet when Sparrow fluttered over. "I'm not going to hurt you." Sparrow said as she pulled out some of her own feathers and lay them on the little Rune's wing.
The little Rune's eyes grew big as he watched his wing heal almost immediately. He brushed Sparrow's feathers off his wing and flapped it. "I'm Tourmaline!" The little Rune said, clutching the sunflower he had with him tightly with his tail. Sparrow, startled when the little Rune spoke, chirped and flew backwards. Tourmaline giggled. "Who are you?" He asked Gemstone. "I'm Gemstone, and that's my friend Sparrow. I'm a Topaz Lizard Rune and Sparrow's a Thistle Rune." Gemstone said. "I'm a Sunflower Rune!" Tourmaline chirped happily.
Gemstone led the way out of the cave, and Sparrow, who didn't like being in the cave much, followed him eagerly out. Tourmaline was also very happy when he got out of the cave, gulping in the fresh air and flapping his wings. He saw a human, and Gemstone explained who it was as Sparrow flew towards a small patch of thistles. Tourmaline didn't like the cold, and so when he saw the human, Lemon's, nice, warm coat, he flew over to her and nudged her shoulder.
---
I felt someone nudge my shoulder, and looked over to see a baby Rune! The Rune was yellow and brown, with sweet blue eyes and a darling smile. He clutched a sunflower with his tail, and I assumed he was a Baby Sunflower Rune. The little thing was shivering, and so I put down the hood of my coat and let him hop into it. Candy immediately flew over to the other baby Rune, and the two chirped too each other the whole way back to my cottage.
Once at my cottage, I opened the door and we went inside. Trinket curled up next to the couch, and Cattail, who was full of energy, dashed outside to chase squirrels. Gemstone was at his cave, and Sparrow and Tangerine were somewhere in the woodlands. I took off my coat and the baby Rune hopped out of the hood, flying rather awkwardly over to the couch.
The little Sunflower Rune was defiantly not as skilled a flier as Candy, and when he landed he sometimes tumbled, or landed right but then fell over, and when he flew he fly in zig zags, wide circles, and very clumsily, and had trouble taking off. He seemed very attached to the little sunflower he carried around, and was defiantly playful and loved to fly around the cottage with Candy.
The Sunflower Rune seemed comfortable in my cottage, and I hoped the Rune would stay with me and my four other Rune, though only Candy stayed at my cottage. It was still morning, and I could tell Candy and the Sunflower Rune were getting bored. I opened my cottage door, and since the sun had risen, it had gotten a bit warmer, and the two Runes flew eagerly outside.
---
"So, what are we going to do?" Tourmaline asked. He had known Candy for only an hour and a half, and already they were good friends. "Fly around, I guess." Candy said, twirling in the air. "Yeah, but I can't fly as good as you!" Tourmaline said, flapping his wings hard to keep air born. "Then I'll teach you!" Candy said. "Really?" Tourmaline said. "Yep!" Candy said, and the two started flying toward a tree.
Tourmaline landed on the tree branch, digging his claws into the bark to prevent himself from falling off of the branch. Candy landed next to him and smiled. "First, lets work on gliding." Candy said. "Okay." Tourmaline said. Candy stretched out her wings. "Flap once or twice, then spread you're wings and simply glide down to the ground or another tree." Candy said. Tourmaline nodded, jumping off the branch and flapping his wings twice. He then spread his wings, but as he neared the ground he panicked, and flapped his wings.
Tourmaline landed with a splash in a mud puddle. Candy glided down and landed next to him, giggling. "You're not supposed to flap you're wings!" She said. "I panicked. Can we try something different?" Tourmaline said, shaking off the mud. "Sure. Lets practice take offs!" Candy said. Tourmaline nodded, and curled his tail around his sunflower tightly. Candy suddenly sprang into the air, flapping her wings and landed on the branch. "Now you try!" She called. Tourmaline jumped into the air and flapped his wings, but ended up tumbling onto the brittle grass.
When he tried again, Tourmaline was more successful. He sprang into the air, flapping his wings hard and managed to get up to a branch. Digging his claws into the bark, he said, "I'm going to try gliding again." And he spread his wings, flapped twice, and started to glide toward the ground. He wobbled a bit while gliding, but didn't panic this time, and landed on the grass easily.
After an hour of flying practice, Tourmaline was better at gliding, taking off, and landing, though he was still not that good at actual flying. "Lets work on actual flying tomorrow, okay?" Candy said. "Okay!" Tourmaline said, smiling. It was around 1:30 PM, and the two Runes flew back to Lemon's cottage. They chatted all the way back, and Tourmaline told Candy how he loved to collect sunflower seeds, and Candy told him how much she loved sweet and sunflower seeds, and they had fun chasing small bugs through the air until the got home.Art:Traditional by me
