Beck walked cautiously out into the small valley in which the cabin was situated. Suddenly the ground collapsed under her right foot. She pulled herself out of the tiny hole and dug it up. Her eyes went misty with tears. She remembered burying these pictures of her and Ace. She flicked through them. Her and Ace swimming in the pond. Her and Ace repairing the cabin. Her and Ace by the fire on a winter's night. Ace dangling her from the branch of the huge fig tree behind the cabin. Her and Ace playing with the dingo pups in spring. Her and Ace roasting marshmallows under the summer stars. Her and Ace kissing for the first time... Her and Ace. It was always her and Ace. She needed a change. Ace would forever be her weakest point. How could her heart break if it was never whole to start with? She put her hand over her mouth, the old pictures falling from her trembling fingers. She sobbed softly.
"What have I done to you?"
Beck turned her head when she heard him. She cringed away, fearing the invisible pain he would send through her.
"Beck... I'm sorry." His eyes were misty too. "I don't know what happened between us." He crouched down. "But I'm sorry. I'd do anything to go back in time and stop it all from happening. But it's over now. I know that." He sighed softly. "If you can ever forgive me... it didn't work out between me and Jay... and I know how much you love Kale." He scooted closer to her, still crouching. "You must never give up that boy. Do you understand me? Not for me, not for anybody else. I can see what Kale means to you, I don't want to ruin that. He is so lucky to have you, he is so lucky. But you can't give him up for anything. Do you understand me? Anything!" he said firmly.
Beck nodded.
"Can I have one last kiss?" Ace asked.
She nodded.
Ace leaned down and kissed her softly on her forehead. "I'll always be here," he promised as he walked away, fading into the forest.
"Kale..." Beck croaked. Ace was right. But she couldn't use words (or a series of barks and yelps for that matter) to describe the love she felt for Kale, it was stronger than anything her species had ever experienced, more powerful than gravity, more important than breathing. She needed him right there with her now.

{That is so cute!}
Kale sighed turning visible because the no ice left he walked back to the cabin smiling and refreshed deciding maybe, maybe soothing will happen between him and Beck. Well, he sure hoped so, he hoped that they could have a normal relationship. One that isnt so chaotic and adventure filled, just one like an old couple knowing they love each other and doing the littlest things together make them happy. "I just want a calm, loving relatuonship" He whispered under his breath
