Suggestion! *CS Info Video*

I don't see the need to make a video. If they want to read the guides, then they will do it. You can't force people to read something. If they don't want it is their choice and they have to live with the consequesnes of it.

Who said this was something people had to do/watch? It's just an optional little video to show people some basics of the site. Perhaps not trading, I agree with what some of you were saying above, but just a quick thing to show people how to use the site, like what Oekaki is, or the forums and whatnot.

Eh. I can see the merit in it.
Most game 'help' sections and walkthroughs are turning into videos nowadays. I don't understand it nor do I find it convenient, but maybe other people will since this pattern seems to be rather consistent. Do you really find it easier to go through a 20 minute video rather than doing a Ctl F or a search function?

I'll see about doing one of these this weekend if you want. I don't think covering trading is a good idea but showing people how to navigate and where the most used threads are could be useful.

Not necessarily a 20 minute video, I agree that would be pointless, but something more along the lines of what you mentioned would be nice.

I think what we need to do right now is see what Tess and Nick think.

You did miss my point. If people do not read the guides, they will neither watch the video.

We have already guides that explain to people how to trade and to use the Oekaki. How in the heavens is it more likely that people watch a video than to read a guide?

What about COPPA'D users? What about if someone has never been on a forum like this one? And what if they just want to know where some helpful topics are, or something like that? I think it should just be available if someone want's to view a quick tutorial on the website.

Basic... sure, CS is basic compared to other forums, I guess, BUT there are a LOT of things to click on (Home, My Pets, Adopt and the Adopt -species-, Store, Forum and the million different categories... must I go on? O.O) and in addition to that, there are an awful lot of people who ask stuff like this:
"What search?"
"What is Ctrl + F?" (yeah, if some people don't know what that is, there's no point in telling them to find something themselves XD; )
"Where can I get help?"
"SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO LOG OUT PLEASE MY SIBLING KEEPS DOING STUFF ON MY ACCOUNT"
"Where can I find my trades?"
"Where do I find my PMs?"
"How do I change my timezone?!?!?!"
"Um, I heard that there's a member list; where is it?"
"How do I create a topic?"
yeah, the list goes on... xD

Some people are auditory learners. Reading makes them fall alseep or get confused. There's three types of learning and any person will prefer one over the other. A video covers two of those- both people that prefer auditory and those that prefer being shown how to do something. Reading can be obtained through the forums. I'm guessing you are a visual learner and prefer reading to video guides, Takora?

I know I am an auditory learner...and I also learn better when shown directly how to do something rather than reading about it, and thats why I suggested something like a video in the first place :3

Something like this then? I just covered the very basics and it is around 10 minutes long... so yes I could totally make a 20 minute video going into more detail on things like trading... I don't think it's necessary to spam every new player's inbox with it, but maybe putting it on the wiki or something would work.
