Yes they would love them, just make sure you rinse them first in dechlorinated water, if you have plants in your tank (or anything floating that they can hide in) it would be best to just freeze them first with a little bit of the dechlorinated water (then you don't have to worry about any hatching and getting Mosquitos inside)

Eh, what about for bettas? And I saw someone feeding their betta ants, is that OK?

Yer betta would love them too just make sure to rinse them and freeze the extras it would be best to feed them frozen any way, less chance of parasites... I don't think ants would be good for them though...

I always seem to find live ones in my pond if I look close enough.. And, how do you rinse them/why do you have to rinse them?

So for those of you that remember my betta Adrian you know I left him at home while I went to college. He passed away while I was gone and I have to clean out his tank since I'm home for the weekend. Kinda makes me sad :C

But in good news my mom is going to be painting and rearranging our living room later this year and she told me she's considering getting a fish tank for it! I'm interested to see if she actually goes through with it but if she does I'll probably get to decorate it and stock it and everything! XD It'll be like its my fish tank but they just pay for everything! haha! But who knows she might decide not to. I tried to convince her to get be a bigger fish tank for christmas but it got downvoted really quickly since I'm still in college and moving back and forth...makes sense but I was sad

Rinse them in a net with dechlorinated/ fish tank water so you aren't putting the stagnant water the larvae where caught in into your fish tank
@Kiara im sorry about Adrian :(

I think that my betta Skye might be fin biting, he doesn't show the symptoms of fin rot... It happened overnight and his fin is kinda destroyed now. I linked pictures down below.
He used to have a really big tail and it weighed him down I think but I don't know why he would suddenly start chewing his fin off (he was the one I was thinking about getting the smaller tank for..)

Anyone know anyway to stop fin biting? I have stuff to treat it and repair the tissue but I don't know how to discourage him from doing it.

This is what his fin looked like yesterday morning
This is what his fin looks like this morning

He isn't behaving any differently and is still zooming around his tank and eating normally. I have asked on a betta specific website I am a member of for help but I would love a second opinion on things.

His tail has definitely been bitten. Have you done anything new to the tank or even around his tank? Any new objects or new routine?

Nope not really, I mean I did a water change on wednesday but I wouldn't think that would suddenly cause him to start doing that. I had to wonder if he was weighed down so much so he destroyed it to make it easier to swim..?

Edit:
Ok did a water change again to make sure that I got some aquarium salt and stress coat in there to make sure he doesn't get an infection, but he seems to be acting totally normal and actually seems a lot happier than he did >_< stupid fish.
Would getting him a shallower tank help? That way hopefully he wouldn't feel like he has to tear his fins to swim down to his ornaments?

What kind of ornaments do you have in the tank? Does he have things to rest on near the top?

In other news, I think I have angel fever. Got two new angels today. One is yellow, and one is silver with vertical black stripes, and small spots everywhere. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics before I released them and now they are hiding.

He has a little dragon, a bridge, 1 silk plant and one soft plastic plant. I went to the store earlier in the week to buy a floating betta log but they were out T_T I still want to buy him one
