there are very few things I would really say are "fluff", especially when you're writing your own story, because it should make sense to you. however, the content should have a point. if you're talking about how this coffee is great and then somehow you end up saying how the red tiles of the coffee shop remind you of the time your character went to the beach...that's probably not necessary, in which case it's just taking up space, and that's what I would say is "fluff'.
however, what's not fluff is stuff such as analyzing the character's emotions and thought processes. that's not fluff at all, that's giving context and insight. and don't be shy about describing surroundings either, because imagery like that isn't fluff either.

the trick with nanowrimo is to just write. don't worry about editing and stuff until after you reach your goal, at which point you can go ahead and fix up places. c:
