Cordelia Nerin
The Mermaid
[/color]

Cordelia sighed when she saw where she had asked to stop. Right in a small patch of mud. She rubbed her hands on her pants, drying them off and she grabbed the glass wall the best she could. She looked up at the sky and sighed seeing that the rain was almost gone. She felt sad inside, knowing that this meant she would need to start drinking more water. She nodded at Adam "Yup. Lets get going." She said to him.
Cordelia almost jumped out of her skin when she heard the sound of a trumpet. She looked over at Adam with wide eyes. She still had a firm grip on the glass. And she continued walking staying on her toes waiting for the next surprise to come, so she would be ready. What she wasn't expecting was a Police man to be here.

Emma Mackenzie Mayfield
"The Worker"

The blare of Alyce's trumpet drew Emma away from her wandering thoughts, sending her snapping back into reality. Realizing that she'd been standing around doing nothing for far too long, she hurried back to the caravan, only to see Sir Adler, with his ever-present top hat, walking towards a uniformed man. Emma's blood ran cold at the sight of the police standing not too far away from their tents. Grinding her teeth together, Emma crossed her arms - police had never brought their small troupe anything but trouble.

Turning on her heel, Emma returned to the main tent, sparing a single glance at the piano outside in the rain, and walked up to The Musician - Alyce - putting a hand on her shoulder. "Keep it down with that trumpet," she muttered darkly. "There's a police officer here. Do you want to get us in trouble?" Drawing in a deep breath, Emma quickly retracted her hand to her side, not wanting to antagonize the girl. "Anyways - we should probably get that piano out of the rain. Sir Adler's not going to be happy with me if he finds out that it needs to be replaced."

Adam Baker
The Dead-Man-Walking
"From the lights to the pavement,
From the van to the floor,
From backstage to the doctor,
From the Earth to the morgue,"

It felt like it took forever, but finally they got the first wall into the tent. Adam groaned softly when he realized there were three more walls to go. He helped drag the wall over to the base where it was fitted into deep notches in the wood that would hold the glass up. They would still have to stick the walls together once they were all set up so no water would leak out. That would take almost as long as getting the walls out.
"Don't tell Adler I said this, but he really is an idiot for thinking that we can set everything up within the time frame of a rainstorm," he said as they set the first wall up. He checked to make sure he hadn't cut his hands on the glass. Luckily he hadn't. He looked at the others walking around and spotted Conner,
"Conner are you done lighting those torches? Maybe you could give your sister and I a hand with the rest of the tank walls," he said.

Cordelia Nerin
The Mermaid

Cordelia sighed as they finally got the glass wall in. She smiled at Adam's comment and nodded herhead in agreement. "Got to agree with you there." She laughed softly. She inspected the glass, seeing that most of the mud had been washed off by the rain, and the rest could be taken care of by wiping it with a cloth and some water. Well her water for her tank. She sighed again remembering that they still had three more walls.
Cordelia inspected her hands for cuts, satisfied that there was only a small one from where she almost dropped the glass. She ran her hand through her damp hair and looked up at Adam as he addressed Conner. She looked over at him hopefully. She hated having only two people carrying to glass walls. Especially when one of those two people where her. She looked at him with hopeful eyes. "Please Conner??"

Conner Nerin
The Dragon

Conner had just finished lighting up the last torch when he heard Adam requesting his help with Cordelia's tank. "Why not, I feel like killing some time," he responded, then glared at his sister trying his hardest not to grin, "Just do me a favor and quit it with the puppy dog eyes." Of course when she had to pull that look when ever she wanted something she would pull that look and utter the little please. It was like she knew he just couldn't say no to her. Conner exited the tent, shoes squishing on the wet ground, he headed towards the supply caravans assuming the rest of the glass was stored in there. While outside he managed to spot Sir Alder speaking with a police officer, who was know doubt the source of the earlier yell. Of course he'd probably persuade him of their noble intentions of bringing entertainment into the dull lives of the inhabitants of this little corner of the country.
This signature does not impress me. XP (soulsryummy? Spider lord? I used to go by those names in times past.)

Cordelia Nerin
The Mermaid

Cordelia grinned at her brother and giggled. She finished sucking on her cut and followed Conner out to the caravan that contained her glass walls. She still frowned at them when she saw them. The rain was barley a drizzle now, but the sky was still grey, giving her some hope that the rain might pick up again. She looked down at the ground seeing the deep dent in the ground where her and Adam had put down the first glass wall. She looked up to see Sir Adler's black top hat, clean as always. She looked away quickly and hurried off after her brother, not wanted to be scolded at for staring by Sir Adler.
Cordelia reached the back of the caravan. She looked at him and muttered "I really hate them. I feel so contained when I'm in them." She frowned and sucked on her cut again waiting for Adam to catch up to help them carry the last wall. Cordelia looked up at the sky to see that the rain had picked up a little bit, giving her some hope, that they would have more time to get set up, and it would give her more time to not look like an alcoholic on water.

(Gack! DX I'm sorry. I lost track of time and had to run to play rehearsal.)

Adam Baker
The Dead-Man-Walking
"From the lights to the pavement,
From the van to the floor,
From backstage to the doctor,
From the Earth to the morgue,"

Adam hurried to catch up to Cordelia and Conner. He heard Cordelia's comment about hating something. It took him a moment, but he realized she must be talking about the tank,
"Yeah. I kind of know how you feel," he said, moving another wall away from the stack, "Hopefully one day we can escape from this place. Maybe one day we can have normal lives. You could always cover your gills up with a scarf. I could be really careful not to get into life threatening situations. Conner...don't drink anything with alcohol in it."
A timid smile crept across his face, but it was gone after a few minutes. He dragged the wall out of its place towards the caravan door.

Officer Nathaniel Burri
[ Normal Human - Policeman ]
"There is quite a problem." Nathaniel's voice was lower, and he was calm himself. If things could be resolved peacefully, it was less work on his part. "You are trespassing. The property owner wants you off immediately. And testing him is not one bit a good idea." He didn't truly care for the well being of these individuals, though he knew if he could not resolve things right now it could get violent. He was sure Smith would find his own weapon soon. Nathaniel simply didn't want the bother of reporting another story of a mad farmer off killing trespassers. It was bad on the reputation of the town, and the police if he couldn't fix it. With a steady gaze on Mr Adler he crossed his arms. "You can either leave, or deal with whichever comes first. Crazy Mr Smith or my back up. Neither one is ever a pretty ending to a dispute."

He seemed tense, standing very straight and very ready to react if he received a violent response. Despite his attempts, his stable and confident look failed as he watched the others he could see behind the man in the top hat. Something didn't feel right, but he couldn't figure out what it was. He at least knew of the people in his town, had some idea of how to respond to the major suspects in almost any conflict. Visitors had rarely caused large issues since he became an officer. Not many people came to visit this place actually. They simply passed through. Not even any shows had stopped here in his lifetime.

"What is your purpose anyways? It's a little dangerous to just set up camp in someone's crop field." He tried to sound at least partially pleasant, and tried to hide his true curiosity about the situation. If he sounded too interested they might not take him one bit seriously on his orders to leave. If he didn't show any care about anything, what reason would they have to listen? Being mean never got results either. So he was trying to find some middle ground. "Really though, you need to leave now. I am sorry it took until you got everything up for us to give you the news, but no matter how difficult you must leave." He hoped they were at least partially smart. He wasn't sure what he would do if the whole group came after him. There was an issue of lack of training in himself and other officers here in things like self defense against groups of angry potentially armed travelers. If it came to it, his own life would be worth much more than Smith's happiness with the department.

She had overslept. That was, in fact, the first thing that crossed her mind as the early morning light came streaming in from one of the small caravan windows, and she sat up suddenly, listening at first calmly to the pitter-patter of the rain, and then alarmed as she looked out and saw that everyone had already started setting everything up. What was even worse was that not only had Sir Adler already come out, but the the cause of his attention was a policeman. Now that was truly something to be worried about, although being reprimanded for arriving late was sure to be high up that list too.

Stretching, she debated going out or staying inside. Against her better judgment, she decided to go out. After all, Evie was quite the loyal friend, and a few of her travelling companions had endeared themselves with her. Not to mention that staying inside made her feel dreadfully useless - something she hated. Being useless was something she vowed, if she possessed the power, to avoid at all costs. And when presented with this indeed life-changing choice, she had to admit that being selfless might make her feel better. Maybe.

Timidly tip-toeing her way to the door, she took a deep breath before opening it wide, hoping to be as silent and inconspicuous as possible. She did her best imitation of a creeping slink towards the rest of the crew, though unfortunately she had yet to master the art of stealth and instead seemed rather silly, crouching down and not being unnoticeable at all. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if several of the presently occupied chatters turned their gazes even if for a moment, towards her, perhaps allowing a raise of an eyebrow. After what seemed like an eternity, Evie finally reached Adam, Cordelia and Conner.

"Hey guys," she muttered in a distinctly cheerful voice, although she tried to keep her voice down to show that she was sorry about slacking off. "Need any help?" Only now did she look up at the three, a beguilingly innocent smile playing on her lips. "It'd be great to feel useful y'know, what about sleeping in and all. I apologise for that, by the way; it was totally stupid of me." Now came in the puppy-dog eyes, a look she employed only in the not-so-rare occasion that she felt like she had to charm somebody.

Alyce Gaver
The Musician

Alyce put the trumpet down and looked up. She saw that Adam and Cordelia were looking, surprised at the sudden noise. She let out a nervous laugh and gave them a awkward wave. She placed the trumpet back and started to squat. She ran her fingers through her hanging side bangs and watch Sir Adler. Thank God that his attention was toward the policeman. The rain has now stopped and the piano still on the cart. She lets out a soft sigh and hoped that the two men's conversation will take the rest of their lives, she need to get the piano out now, otherwise who would know what Sir Adler might do. He liked being ready by the end of the storm, it was his way. And anything that wasn't in his way was the wrong way. The Emma approached her. She listened to what she had to say about the noise and then she heard her tell her about the piano. Alyce's ear perked up. She started to nod her head rapidly and took out her white notebook. She started to scribble in it. Then she held the page to Emma. It read:

Yes! I need help bringing it in!
I was trying to get someone's attention with
the trumpet but...anyways can you help me?

Alyce pouted her bottom lip, trying to add to the moment.
