Phantom yawned and walked out of the warriors' and hunters' den, wondering what was happening right now in camp. He walked around, and noticed an outraged Ryuu dashing out of camp. "Huh?" He asked himself, wondering what in the world happened, and why would someone be so mad after a night of hearing Kinari's song?

Flare watched Copper get mad at Yuri and growled,as he heard what Copper said about him. He walked to the fresh kill pile and picked up a squierrl just as Ryuu got mad at Soul, He saw the yellow fox race out of the camp and Flare dropped his squirrel in suprise. He was so stunned he didn't pick it up for a while but when he did he walked over to Raven and put the squirrel down. Queitly he asked "What happened?"

Jingle tossed and turned,debating wether to wake up or not. Finally she did groggily walking to the entrancve of the den. She stuck her heads out just in time to see Copper run out of the camp. "Hmmmm, wonder what his problem is" She muttered to herself. Yawning she trotted lazily over to a patch of long grass and plopped herself down,waiting to be told to do something.

Shiko listened intently to Soul, her ears pricked forward the whole time. Her expression remained the same, thoughtful and monotone. Finally, she stepped forward and sat next to Soul, pulling him to lean on her with her tails. "Soul, you must understand that you are not going to die and it would be my decision who would be made leader. If I thought Leaf Fall was the best choice, I would choose him. Though, you have to understand, there hasn't been anyone for Ryuu to lean on. He's a strong fox, we've never seen him cry or complain or betray us, now have we?" She sighed, looking off into the distance as a memory passed through her mind. She flinched the slightest bit at the memory, but hoped Soul hadn't noticed. "I think... Ryuu thinks Copper is being ungrateful, because Copper has the life Ryuu never had. Copper shouldn't dwell in the past about Sadira, there will be other foxes. I don't go around shouting about how horrible Flare is or how bad of a leader you are." she smiled teasingly with the last remark, but her expression quickly fell back into its normal one. "Soul, you're an excellent leader, and you can't connect with everybody and make them feel better." she finished, waiting for Soul's reply.

Ryuu froze, his heart skipping a beat as he heard another fox's voice... in his grove. Grinding his teeth to try to control his rage, he spun around to see Copper. His heart was pounding so hard in anger, he thought it would pop right out of his chest. Copper was the last fox he wanted to see right now. Digging his claws into the ground, he choked out through gritted teeth, "What... are... you... doing here?"

Bluebell found Flare speaking to Raven. "Flare, I'm sorry but I really need to talk to you." With a glance over at Raven, she added, "In private..."

Apollo and Sasha arrived back at the camp. All the old kill was gone, so he knew that the leash needed more food.

Phantom looked around camp, having an odd feeling for some reason. What had happened...Ryuu running out of camp, outraged, and Copper following as well. He wondered what happened.

((Hey, uh TOI, Apollo and Sasha just took all the old stale food out and buried it. There's no food left, patrols will go out later to hunt.))

Soul leaned on Shiko, glad of the alchemist's role in his life. As she talked, he allowed himself to be calmed, and he went back to being the leader that he was. He turned and looked at her, his tone as serious as hers had been, "You're right about what you've said, and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for being here for me. But Shiko, a lot of us in the leash don't have the greatest of pasts. You think that Copper has had the life that Ryuu never had? Well, I'll have you with me when the time comes to tell Copper the truth about his parents, and his siblings, and what really happened the day I found him in the forest..." His eyes glazed over a bit at the last line, and he swam in the ghosts of the past, remembering that bittersweet afternoon. Shaking his head a bit, he continued, "If Copper screws up again, then we're going to have a problem, but something gives me the feeling that he's going to be more careful in the future. I think it's time I assigned the patrols and planned the day... But if you don't mind me asking, why did you flinch when you were talking?"

Copper also dug his claws into the ground, but for very different reasons: he was trying his best not to run from the frenzied Ryuu in front of him. Gulping, the apprentice made eye contact with Ryuu, keeping the fear from his face as he quietly said, "I wanted to see where you were going... Maybe talk a bit? Figure things out together..?"

Shiko sighed, glad that Soul was back to normal. "It's nothing for you to worry about, young Soul." she assured him. "I have no time to wallow in the past either, things are to be done." She got up, shaking herself. "We'll see how Ryuu handles Copper. Ryuu can be scary at times, but I do trust him. Now, if you'll excuse me." she dipped her head and walked out gracefully, her wispy tails swishing behind her. It was true, she'd rather not think of her past. She searched around for her apprentice, today would be the perfect day to teach.

Ryuu was shaking with anger by the time the apprentice had finished speaking. Taking a deep breath, he attempted to calm himself, which didn't have much effect. He tromped up to Copper and grabbed him by the scruff. Running a few feet away from his private place he dropped the apprentice on the ground. "What do you want to talk about?" he ground out, his eyes still blazing with anger and pain.

Raven padded up to Phantom when Bluebell took Flare aside. She leaned her head close, noticing that Shiko and Soul had been talking for a while. Her fur stood up a bit in apprenhension, and she bent her head close to the other hunter to ask, "What's going on?"

Soul sighed and stood up stretching, murmuring at "Thank you" to the leaving Shiko. The day had barely begun and already it seemed over. He padded out of the den and looked up at the sky, closing his eyes a breeze danced through the clearing. Oh Kinari... I need you... Opening his eyes, he calmly looked at his leash, and realized that they all needed to get moving. He turned and stepped up on his stump, looking down at the foxes and waiting for the others to wake up.

Copper was terrified as Ryuu moved him. I thought he was going to strangle me... he thought to himself, as he turned to face his mentor. "What do you want to talk about?" he asked. "From what I... heard... It doesn't seem like you've had anybody, I at least got to experience something, even if it only was for a little while..." The apprentice trailed off, suddenley feeling embarassed. Who was he to think he could be a role in his mentor's life? Sighing, he looked back up at Ryuu, and managed one more pitiful sentence, "If you need someone to say anything to, regardless of what it is... well, I'm here..."
