I thought this book would be full of action and a page turner. I usually finish a book in this series in about 3 days this book however took weeks. This was not one my favorite books. Thumbs down.

While I have been a huge fan of Mr. Riordan's work, I think that the heavy workload of two concurrent series negatively effected The Mark of Athena. I felt like many of the characters were flat, the unstoppable giants have been extremely unimpressive throughout the series, and the story felt rushed and extremely formulaic. I had high hopes for this series, but each book has made me less less interested than the one before. Hopefully now that Mr. Riordan's workload has decreased, the quality of his work will greatly improve.

I love the Percy Jackson series, but this book went no where. You would expect a big reunion between Percy and Annabeth, nope. The action was so short lived and doesn't even compare with the action in books passed. Too many main characters and all it focused on was their insecurities. Very depressing point in this story line. Thumbs down in a big way.
