Riley shook her pelt walking around.

Shasta sat beside Akiak looking around checking each of his team members. He sat on a haybale as his team slept in a large warm barn.

Buck sat on the snowy ground surveying the land.

Sweetie yawned tiredly. She hated getting up and walking out into the cold.

Rock padded around her kennel.

Dusk slept still.

Cass got free of her chain and went for a walk in the snowy forest

Cherokee yawned, lifting her head from the cosy hay. She looked up to see the lead dog, Shasta checking on them all. She smiled, rolling onto her back. She wanted to enjoy the warmth while it lasted, until they had to go out into the snow again.

Cass howled

Shasta barked, "We have a mail delivery today my team. Better be on your best behavior we must make a great impression on humans so they'll make us work for them often."

Akiak nodded her agreement, "He's right."

"Sure thing." Cherokee replied, grinning. She rolled back onto her tummy, walking to the barn entrance. She looked out at the falling snowflakes, the piling snow and....icy ice. She sighed, knowing they would be out there soon.

Cass howled again

Shasta jumped off the haybale and padded out into the snow hearing a howl.

"What's that noise?" Cherokee asked Shasta and his sister, hearing the distant howl.
