Soul nodded as Ryuu talked, agreeing with the points he brought up about Copper. He sighed though as Ryuu finished, placing his tail on the large fox's shoulder as he said, "You're right, that behavior is unacceptable in this leash, but he's had a huge loss, and even if you don't understand him that doesn't mean you should destroy him. He's already destroying himself," Soul said quietly, looking sadly at the apprentice's den before continuing, "He respects you: even you can see that. Use it to your advantage and find out everything he's hiding and hurting from and fix it." The leader growled a bit at the end, annoyed with the problems that were occuring within the leash. "In this case, your job as a mentor extends beyond the usual roles. Do all that you can with him, push him beyond his limits. I'll intentionally turn away from whatever it is you make him do as long as it's for his benefit. Kinari has great plans for him..." He finished, looking hard at Ryuu to make sure he understood.

Apollo chuckled. "Well, we better get going then." He led the way to a small clearing where the foxes usually make their dirt. Choosing a spot well away from the dirt-piles, Apollo dug a large enough hole to bury the kill. He dropped the squirrel inside, waiting for Sasha to do the same before he went back to camp to finish the chore.

Sasha trotted to the clearing and dropped her mouthful as well. As they were walking back to camp Sasha tried to start a conversation, "So, did you like the first part of Kinari's song?" she asked sort of nervously.

Ryuu glared right back at Soul, not flinching away from his leader's gaze. "Look, Soul," he began in a low growl, "when I mean break him, I mean he's never going to utter a word like that again. You think he's suffered loss? He doesn't know what loss is!" He stood up, towering over the leader. His voice dropped into a dangerously soft and calm tone. "When he sees his parents killed in front of him, then he's suffered loss. When he loses everything he's ever loved and driven away from the place he grew up, then he's suffered loss. When Kinari turns her back on him and sends him to live on his own until he's begging to be let into a leash and helped, THEN. HE'S. SUFFERED. LOSS. Ryuu finished with a vicious snarl and swung his head away from the leader. He stomped out of the camp, not caring if it was against the rules. He was the most skilled warrior here, nothing could take him down. As he ran through the forest, his heart burning with pain and rage, he hoped no one had seen that one tear fall right before he had left camp...

As Shiko put away the last of the fragrant, leftover herbs, she heard a terrible snarl. Quickly, she trotted out of her den and up to Soul. She saw Ryuu rush out of camp and could almost feel the rage and pain coming off of him in waves as he sprinted away. "Oh my..." she murmured, her brows furrowed worriedly, "What happened?" she turned to Soul.

Yuri's eyes widened in horror as Ryuu snarled and left. He was about to ask Soul what happened until Shiko trotted up to him. He gazed sadly after Ryuu, Please be okay...

Kiki heard the yelling and sat up immedietly. All she saw was Ryuu running away. She tried to chase Ryuu but wasn't able to run as fast, "Ryuu!" she called out desprately, hoping he would stop.

[Calypso Sky]

Raven woke up with a jump as a terrible snarl entered her ears and a flash of yellow raced by the den. She found herself sandwiched between Leaf Fall and Jakei. She wormed her way out from the two of them, apologizing under her breath in case she woke them up. She padded into the clearing and looked around, blinking the sleep from her eyes and trying to find out what was going on.

"Oh Ryuu..." Soul said quietly, staring after the warrior as he ran off. The leader turned to Shiko, sadness showing in his eyes as he responded, "He let himself go. We were discussing his apprentice and the worst of Ryuu's past came back to haunt him..." Just then, Copper's face popped out of the den and he sat himself down in front of Soul, something indescribable showing in his eyes. "Go," Soul sighed, and Copper was off. Turning back to Shiko, Soul nodded towards his den and wearily padded towards it, knowing that a more secluded spot for talking would be better. Narrowing his eyes as Kiki ran out he called to the leash, "Nobody leave the camp unless you ask me first. We don't want foxes randomly wandering around in the woods." Soul reached his den and lay down , leaving room for the alchemist to settle before he'd confess his worries.

Copper raced out of camp, his three tails streaming behind him and the wind causing his eyes to tear up. I'll find him, he thought with determination, We'll figure this out together. The apprentice used the best of his tracking abilities as he ran after Ryuu, hoping that he'd be able to catch up. Together... He pushed himself forward, his lungs screaming for air. He was so fast, he didn't even recognize his surroundings. He felt as though he saw a glimpse of Ryuu's tail, but he wasn't entirely sure. Together...

Yuri's sad expression hardened when he saw Copper race by. Turning his back briskly, he padded over to the others side of camp, sitting down crossly.

Shiko nodded, knowing that it was something to do with Copper and Ryuu. Sighing, she followed the leader into his den. Her heart ached, this was going to be a long day. She sat down in front of Soul, wrapping her tails around her paws. "So?" she prompted.

Ryuu had run to a secluded part of the forest that only he knew about. The river bubbled past this hidden grove and was surrounded by ancient trees. Many trees had been torn up by his past visits. Now, he worked on the next tree. Letting out a vicious snarl, he struck out at the tree again, tearing a huge chunk out bark out. Panting hard, he looked at the damage he had done. Half of the tree was stripped of his bark and deep slashes marked the tree. Blood smeared the tree from his torn pads. He sprang up on his back paws and dug his claws in as high as they would go. Growling, he viciously jerked his claws down, tearing a huge patch of the tree out. His muscles strained with the force and a steady stream of blood worked its way down the tree. Sniffing, he rubbed away the tears that stained his cheeks and sat down, scowling at the tree like everything was it's fault. He looked up at the sky, "Why me, Kinari?!" he yelled at the sky. "Why did you turn your back on me?!"

Apollo looked over at Sasha and flushed a little. "Um, yeah. I uh.." Augh! Why do I have to be so awkward!? Apollo cringed, afraid that Sasha would notice how nervous he was. "I really liked it... It was beautiful." Like you... he thought, looking into Sasha's eyes.

Kiki dug her claws into the ground and jerked to a stop. She stopped so fast that her hind legs lifted off the ground and she flipped over onto her back. She let out a little squeak when she hit the ground and instantly rolled over. She huffed as she got up. Soul let a young fox chase after Ryuu but no, not her. She limped back to her spot in the grass and lay back down grumpily.

"Yeah it was," Sasha said looking nervously at the ground. "Kinari is a beautiful singer," she said trying to carry on the conversation.

[Calypso Sky]

Soul shook his head, trying to keep the tears from coming. "Yuri was playing around with Copper and Copper got mad. He named a lot of leash members and said disrespectful things about them, Ryuu and I both overheard and we began to talk. Ryuu said he would break Copper, training him to not be so disrespectful. I explained that Copper was a special case, but that Ryuu had my permission to do whatever he needed to his apprentice as long as it was solely for Copper's benefit. Then I'm sure you heard what Ryuu said, and it went downhill from there..." Soul let the tears well up as he made eye contact with Shiko. "What did I do wrong? How could I have failed the best warrior so badly?" He dropped his gaze, wiping his eyes with his paw before looking back up at Shiko to confess his biggest worry, "What if I picked the wrong warrior to be SIC? If I died right now, and Ryuu was in charge and he did something that..." Soul trailed off.
"The worst," he said quietly, "The worst is that I can't even go after him myself, I had to contend with letting Copper go, and I only hope I made the right decision... Oh Shiko..." Soul crawled forward towards the white fox, pushing moss up towards his den entrance so that the others wouldn't be able to see or hear.

Copper was frozen at the edge of Ryuu's clearing. I've never been here before, he thought. The apprentice watched hopelessly as Ryuu destroyed the old trees, letting his great paws bleed in the process. As Ryuu yelled at the sky, Copper instinctively said, "S-she didn't." To be quite honest, he was afraid of Ryuu in the state he was in but he continued, "I-if she d-d-did, then that-t-t means that you would be Z-Z-Zargon's, and that's not r-right at all..."
