Akira licked him back. Then her eyes dimmed. "What if the same thing happens to this one? What if this one dies too?" Her ears drooped, and saddness glazed her eyes."Knowing my luck, it will die..."

Night put a paw on Akira's paw. "It'll be fine,"

Akira looked at Night. "Oh, really? And how how can you be so sure?" Despair was in her eyes, and her ears and tail were low. "All of the litters i have before have all died. Every single one! And i've had three litters!.....I'ts just a matter of time before this one dies too...." She sat down, her entire body screaming defeat.

Night nudged her. "Let's go see what Marrow has to say."

Akira nodded, and followed Night. She felt too depressed to answer. Not after the many times she had lost her children, and the many times she had dissapointed her mat- NO! she thought, Dont think about it! She shook her head, and kept pace with Night.

Night led Akira to the Dreamer's den. "Marrow."

Marrow looked to the entrance to her den. "Come in."

Akira vaguely heard the Dreamer call "Enter", and quietly walked in behind Night. She layed down just inside the enterance, lost in thought.
