I have read that female bristle nose will have little to no bristles. But Im not very knowledgeable with them.
Phantomhive's Shadow wrote:My goldys are chasing again! I got bored the other day, so I got out a clear plastic er.. Parsley jar (used.. lol woud beh funneh if der was shtil sum parslay innit) put a weight in it to keep it down, then got a pinch of fish food. Dropped it right down. Watching my fish try to eat it, it was so funny. Then one smart goldfish (technically, he shouldn't be called goldfish since he's white with red spots. Lol. Comet sounds better.) went in through the opening in the top and ate his fill. BEAT THAT! WHO SAID FISH WERE DUMB*** ANIMALS?!
This morning I was feeding them. Well they were chasing each other and occasionally ate a pellet or two when they were near the top. Clown got in the jar again, so I picked him up -jar an him- to get a closer view of him. I could see his insides, not clearly, just where the white parts are. Stomach, liver.. Intestines! lol yeah. So I had a thought, if my pregnant girl mated with this awesome Clown (my girl is just a boring orange. Neon orange, actually. Metallic, more like.) I should get some interesting offspring. Put the girl in, and sadly Clown ignored her. Put a chasing male in, the male continued to try and squeeze her, but Clown remained silent.. Dumped them all in, and the other boys started chasing her again.
They've been chasing her since morning, like 7 or 7.30. Not it's like 9.20 and they're still at it. While I got a close look of the girl, a few of her scales seems to be lighter than the rest, like they're almost falling off. Is that bad? And when I put in the chasing male, after a few minutes her gills turned white. Before, when she was with Clown, she was all orange, except for the orange spot on her tail. What does the white gills mean?
That does not seem normal... I would separate the female from the males for a few weeks. What is your water parameters?
Since I dont have much experience in breeding I suggest going here and asking in

I put my snails in with my betta. Had an issue with the betta nipping the the snails so I took him out. Moved around the decor and he is less aggressive now.
