Akira woke up a few minutes later, and a few hours later she had givin birth to 4 pups. All were pre-mature, and died a few minutes after birth. Akira stared at them, heartbreak and grief in her eyes. Then she tipped her head back and let out a long wailing howl of pain.

Night licked her ear. "I tried to help them. I really did."

Nikie looked up at them. "Yes?"

"We wanted to make it public that me and Ice are mates." Comet replied.

Akira looked up at Night. "I know...Thank you....." She whispered brokenly, "But, what am i going to do now? They were the only family i had left!....Everyone's gone...." she trailed off.

Night frowned and rubbed his cheek against her's. "I'm sorry."

Akira closed her eyes for a moment. Then she took a deep breath and looked at Night. "I'd like to ask you're Alphas pemission to join the Lightning Pack. I want to protect this pack. I don't want anyone else to die."

"There's an opening in some tree roots, that's Nikie's den, she's the Alpha. I'll bury the pups." Night replied.

Comet smiled and led Ice back out of the den.

Akira nodded, took one last look at her pups, and quietly padded over to Nikkie's den. She bowed her head in respect to the two wolves leaving the Alpha's den. Then she paused at the enterance, a little shy and unsure of what to say.
