Oh J, oh J, oh J.
Today was the Big Day. The day that decides whether we go on or are kicked out of the music world.
And ket me tell you, I was dreading it. I couldn't even enjoy sitting in the limo Bob sent for us. I got nervous during our last-minute rehearsal, almost fumbling the lines again and again. I couldn't eat any of my jacket potato in the cafeteria, or I would've been sick.
Then it came around, our time to go on stage, just after the band 'Medieval'.
Jess was waiting in the wings, giving us support. We stood on stage with our instruments. Some of the chatting crowd was dancing, while others just stood and watched with plastic cups of juice. They were all staring at me. I blinked, before realising I had to introduce us.
Hi guys, I said, running over the script in my head,
I'm Luna, and this is Truth Or Dare. Now relax and enjoy our first song, Free Enough To Fly.We started, and sure enough, they were soon whooping and clapping, some dancing along. We ran through the routine, and then sidled off whilst Bob closed the show.
I'm so proud of you! Jess gasped, pulling us into a hug. Moonlily dashed over, her floral headband still in place, and gave us high-fives.
You were awesome! she said with a grin. Then Bob came back.
Truth or Dare, I'd like to introduce you to the bosses of Galaxy Records, Cookie and Justina, he told us, waving a hand at two dogs in the shadows.
I stared. And stared some more, The others seemed just as gobsmacked. I mean, whatever bosses of cool record labels looked like, I hadn't expected them to look, well, like
this:
Hello! Cookie greeted, waving a delicate paw.
How're you doin'? Justina added. Nobody spoke. I moved my mouth, but only a strangled note came out. That gave me an idea; if I couldn't talk, I could sing, right?
I really can't talk right now, I began, getting a rhythm in my mind.
If I could you wouldn't understand,
I really can't talk right now,
I'm speechless, this can't be happenin'Lexi's eyes brightened; she got what I was doing. And so she joined in.
I don't believe my eyes,
This can't be happenin',
I see no-thing!
I wonder what would happen if you broke through,
Understand the gibberish,
Stop me looking like a fool! Tallulah got it, and joined in;
So give me a sign,
Show me the way to go,
What have you decided?
Do I own the show?Cookie and Justina; they got it. Their eyes were shining. Justina whispered into Cookie's ear, who nodded.
Of course you do; it would be a crime to waste your talent!Alex and Tallulah grabbed each other's shoulders, jumping up and down. Brandon was laughing. But me, I just broke into song.
I really can't talk right now, If I could you wouldn't understand,
I really can't talk right now,
I'm speechless, this can't be happenin'
