Cyan raised her nose and sniffed. A cool breeze ruffled her mane and filled her nose, smelling of new trees and saltiness. She let her tail flop down over the side of the branch, the black jewel glinting in the sunlight. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath of fresh air, filling her lungs with a cool chill that spread through her body and relaxed her. She was content to sit here forever, the green of the trees around her and their whispers swirling through the air.

Cyan peered down at the forest floor below her, rough dry leaves blowing across the ground in the wind. She opened her wings to keep her balance, spreading them wide. Leaning back onto the trunk of the tree, she thought about what she was going to do next. Nobody seemed to be around, so maybe she should go looking for someone to talk to. Or she could just sit here and enjoy the day. She smirked at herself, her yellow gold eyes twinkling. All these choices.
