Nightmares had been plaguing me for weeks now, dreams of a beautiful web of silver, crested with an emerald gem at its center, shattering, and the awful scream it uttered, sending shockwaves of power washing over the land. I didn't understand how, but I knew the web mustn't shatter, or there would be dire consequences. The awful feeling that filled my chest at the end of the dream always woke me with a scream, hands grasping at my chest, trying to stop the painful crushing of my heart. Each night it came, and each night I would stare out into the pitch black dark, wondering, searching. It wasn't until I had a vistor late one night that I understood.

I sat on my porch wrapped in a blanket, little Arden curled up on my lap keeping me company after that latest episode of the nightmare, when I felt something crawling up my leg. I jumped, throwing away my blanket, jostling Arden as I looked for what had caused the creepy-crawlies. I noticed it fairly quickly, and I bit back a scream, for the shining black bug on me was the size of a hummingbird. Shaking, I gently set Arden on the porch railing and reached down to flick the monsterous spider from my leg, but it did something I had never seen a spider do before.

The large brown and white beast began to spin a web so fragile and delicate, and I watched in abject horror and awe. When at last the spider was done, I saw a map of my house and the surrounding areas. As I studied the map I saw one spot was clearly marked as the destination, and I shivered as a chill swept through me. I stared down at the spider, flashes of the dream racing through my mind, and I heard it. "Save the Heart, Save the Land"

I didn't stop to think, I lifted the spider and run through the night, lungs gasping and burning, feet bleeding and bruised, until I come to the place. A cave, littered with webs fragile and broken, thousands of spiders slinking about, and I shuddered, but stepped inside. The cave narrowed, and as I continued onward, becoming smaller and smaller, until I was crawling. Air dank and musty, hard to breathe, I found it, an emerald gem at the center of a starstruck silver web, some strands beginning to rip at the weight of the emerald. As I gently pulled the egg from the web, looking down at the eight-legged creature on my shoulder I smiled.

It was a beautiful day, even if it was in the middle of October. Almost all the leaves were orange, red or brown and just a few of them was on the trees, the rest of them had already fall onto the ground.
Suddenly, I saw how a thief took a bag from an old woman.
I stood up quickly from my chair, and started to run after the thief.
"Hey, Stop it!" I screamed while I began to run faster while the thief looked back at me with a grin on his face. Then, he stumbled on a rock that came out of the ground and he fell flat on the ground.

I looked at him and stopped him to get up on his feet again.
"Give me the bag, it isn't yours."
"Your fool. Do you know how much this bag is worth?" He said and a awful grin appeared on his face. I grabbed the back and started to run back to the old lady.

"Excuse me, Madam? I think this is yours"
"Oh thank you, my dear!" She said with her old voice.
"Do you know what the thief wanted to steal from you?" I said with curiosity.
"Of course, of course! This isn't the first time this happens, and I don't think it is the last one either. But we can't talk about it here, do you mind if we take a cup of tea at my house?"

"A Drake Egg?! Do you know how rare they are?"
"Of course, why do you think everyone wants to steal it? I found it when I was a bearer myself, but that was a long time ago. Unfortunately it didn't bond with me, so I guarded it ever since, just in case if it's real owner appears"
"And why do you tell this to me?"
"Because you, my dear, are the true bearer of the spider drake" The lady said with a smile and gave me the emerald coloured egg.

It was the eve of halloween, and I was decorating my spooky front yard still. Everything had to be perfect. The long front yard was decorated as a zombie bedroom. It was ,complete with fog from a machine situated under the stairs of my front porch.

"Bye mom!"I yelled as I walked out of the door chilly Autum air, I walked to the end of my driveway,were something peculiar sat gleaming proudly right in the old Acorn tree "Hmmm" I wondered what it was, and I decided to climb the tree right away. The youngest neighbor kid he was too young to go to school so he could play outside he watched me scramble up the tree yelling "WHATS THAT WHATS THAT!" and "I WANT IT GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT!!!!"
"Well your not getting it."
"i'm telling my mommy that I want it and your not giving it to me."
"well,your mother can not say that I have to do ANYTHING that is unless i'm in your house or she's watching me . Which will NEVER happen."
of course my neighbor started to throw a tantrum yelling "I WANT IT NOW!"then the mother came out. She asssumed that I hurt the little brat and made it quite clear that she wouldn't tolarate something like that. I reached for the pretty egg/rock thing,wowI thought as I picked it up Heavy when I saw my bus coming I ran,I needed to invesdacate this egg/rock and I was not going to let school ruin it for me

Meaning of name; It means 'princess'. Since she is a Spider Queen, it seemed suiting to have a royal name. I was originally thinking about Anasi or Arachne, both of which are the names of spiders from myths (Anasi African, Arachne Greek)- however, it's kind of obvious and doesn't represent THIS dragon well.
So, instead I focused on the 'royal' part of this drake and looked for some royal names. There were a lot of names, but for some reason Mersera seems to suit this one well.
So that's how I chose the name~

Spiders- creatures who live under prejudice and stereotypes of being creepy, dark bugs. I had never thought deeply about them, really, and preferred to stay out of their way. However all my pessimistic thoughts changed due to a loyal companion I had met. A beautiful lady, really- with a strict, queenly side and also a loving mother side to her complex personality. Her appearance had allowed me to respect teamwork, and also had gotten to understand a monarch's life; their burdens, their worries, and their responsibility.

One day I stumbled upon an ancient, crumbling building- god knows what it was doing in the middle of the forest of Eldemore- it was a gray one, overgrown with ivy and vines of all sorts. I was flabbergasted by the discovery, and became curious as I saw a large opening in the middle of borders, which, I speculated, led to a cave, or perhaps an ancient room. The day was bright and sunny, and I wasn't particularly afraid of this adventure. So, without hesitation I stepped into the darkness. Immediately I noticed something stick to my feet. For an odd moment I wondered if it was bubble gum, and then realized I had stepped on a thick white cobweb. I felt a cold chill down my spine, and swallowed hard; there was only one creature that could create such a thick, silky, fine, yet dangerously sticky thread- a Spider Drake.

Almost instantly I heard a series of echoing, hissing noises. I expected a gigantic monstrosity of a drake to crawl out to chase me out, or spew silk over me, or whatever- and I was dreading the moment. Yes indeed, a huge Spider Drake; a large, demeaning dragon which could create the finest(and stickiest) thread fluttered out. However, my speculation was wrong; instead of lunging to bite me, it simply let out a soft, confused sound; I blinked in confusion too, wondering what this dragon was expecting me to do. "What are you doing?" I murmured; to my surprise, the drake seemed to understand and turned around, moving deeper into the cavern. I found half a dozen of other drakes looking at me in the darkness; to be honest, I was freaking out, but I tried to remain calm.

At last we seemed to reach the deepest end of a chamber, which indeed was an ancient room with high, smooth rock walls and columns reaching the walls. When I looked around, I gasped as I spotted...the eggs. Two perfectly round spheres, which glowed luminously in the darkness with a royal aura. I realized that both were the eggs of the Spider Queen drake, the ones who would grow up to lead this colony- but there was a problem; only one queen could exist, but now there were twin sisters...I realized the drakes' confusion, and I also realized what I must do. Choosing one of those exotic, dignified eggs, I gently hoisted it up and held it to my heart, feeling the dragonchild's softly pounding, rhythmic heartbeat. I promised to myself and to the royal dragon curled up in the sphere: I will protect you and love you; until you and your sister can together rule your colony well.

((Scene explanation: Mersera's egg, in some kind of cushion. Red carpet? It's just what was on the floor when the drakes moved in. The web has special lace on it because well, Mersera will be the Queen, right? ♥ Queenly lace. Yup.
Oh, and her twin sister's egg is in another corner. They're not right next to each other ^^
And the second picture is a very ugly divider that I originally made :B But it was ugly, so just think of it as a decoration to the picture...))
