A slight tingle came to her nose. August knew what it was; as she looked up, she could make out the dark figure of what looked like a brute. She closed her eyes again, realising now that she had a concussion. Her head throbbed, and her paw and lower leg ached. Either this brute, her possibly broken leg or starvation would kill her, because it was unlikely she'd be let into the pack now. Somehow, she always found a way to ruin her chances.
